Last Thursday, we threw a Cup of Jo garden party in Brooklyn! We invited readers to the Clare V. store next to our Brooklyn office, and we LOVED meeting all the wonderful women — including designer Clare Vivier herself. Here are a few photos, if you’d like to see…
Right before the party, we had the inevitable panic that no one would come, but around 6 p.m., people started arriving!
Inside the store, people browsed the bags and tried on summer lipsticks from Ilia.
In the garden, we had delicious food from Poppy’s Catering (including mini BLTs and flatbreads)…
…and rosé and Champagne from Alit Wines.
We hung out and chatted — how cute are these bright red dresses?
The garden was filled with fairy lights and friendly faces, including…
Cup of Jo editors Megan and Stella…
…and even a few gentlemen! :)
That little face! Those socks! The perpendicular feet! #BABYFEVER
Lots of stripes and funny conversations.
People were making friends and exchanging numbers, too, which was so much fun to see.
It was such a treat to meet some great women in this community and get to chat and eat snacks and hang out. Thank you so much for everyone who came, and for Clare for co-hosting. If you’d like us to host a gathering in your city (maybe with manicures? fortune tellers? a braid bar?) please let us know where you live and we’ll try to make it happen! Thank you so much. xoxo
P.S. Making friends as an adult, and a trick for avoiding small talk.
