I’ve been a huge fan of Everlane for years (ever since they launched their first T-shirt!), and I’m always excited to hear about their new pieces. This week, they’re debuting a new collection of sweaters made with soft Australian merino wool. Here are a few photos, if you like to see…
I tried a couple sweaters on with my Australian friend Laura O’Neill, the co-founder of Van Leeuwen ice cream. We got together at her restaurant Selamat Pagi, in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, on one of the first cold days of fall.
The wool for Everlane’s new sweaters — like Laura’s white one — is all from Australia. Everlane works closely with The Woolmark Company, a non-profit owned by more than 24,000 Australian woolgrowers and the global authority on merino wool. “This wool is soft and not at all itchy, you don’t even need an under layer,” said Laura, who grew up in Melbourne. “And I love the cute cropped front.”
Here, I’m wearing the wool-cashmere cardigan, which has a great oversized shape. All of Everlane’s sweaters have unexpected details, like a rib trim cuff or an exaggerated hem. I also loved how effortless it felt. It would be great to wear out to a low-key dinner or while hanging with friends. (You could even wear it as a comfy robe over pajamas.)
For the holiday season, Everlane is shipping to 42 countries, including Australia. They give free shipping on your very first order (and free shipping on every order of two or more items). They’re also having a contest through November 30th for shoppers to compete to win their country a permanent spot in on their ship-to list. You can vote here. Australia is winning! (Here I am wearing their new long turtleneck.)
Thanks, Everlane! You can see their whole beautiful collection here.
