Sweet Crib Sheets

After six years of having at least one child in a crib, we gave our crib away this weekend! Both boys are sleeping in regular beds now, and it feels like the end of an era. Maybe that’s why I’m swooning so much over Winter Water Factory’s new collection of crib sheets. Don’t you love their sweet patterns? Here are a few, plus some other crib sheets we like…

I love the Oh Joy for Target crib sheets. They’re so fun and colorful! Hell, I love Oh Joy for Target EVERYTHING.

We have organic cotton ones from Pottery Barn kids that are great. We also got a great tip from a friend about zip off sheets. The base stays on and you only have to zip off the top. Nice to not have to fight with a crib mattress, since you have to wrangle it out of the crib to actually change the sheets! He claimed they were a game changer for middle-of-the-night quick changes! What we do to solve the same problem is double stack the sheets: mattress pad, sheet; mattress pad, sheet. Then, in the middle of the night, we just take off the top! Its a brilliant tip I got at a baby shower before I was even pregnant.

I can’t complain, but we inherited a Stokke Sleepi crib which is the oval shaped crib. I wish more stores would sell a crib sheet in the oval shape, because we are limited to plain white or one of two simple Aden & Anais options.

We have the stokke and just use normal cot sheets and although they’re a little bunchy at the ends they fit fine.

We use Dwell Studio sheets – we have the city scape and the space ones. Bedding, in any size, is so fun to shop for!

These are all so sweet. Although my twins are no longer in cribs, it seem like just yesterday I was planning their nursery while waiting for “the call” during the adoption process. Our little cherry blossoms had gingham and tiny dots sheets in pale pink and green to match the beautiful cherry blossom tree mural our friend painted on the nursery wall.

I love the high seas crib sheet so much! I have seen a t-shirt in that fabric before and recognized it right away! I love the waves and ships.
My very tall 3 year old has yet to realize that he can easily get out of his crib. He just stands there calling waiting for us to lift him out (sometimes way too early in the morning). He looks so cute standing there in his tiny bed waiting for help haha.

Dwell has amazing crib sheets – my kids are older now but I loved our Dwell sheets! The patterns were amazing, and washed very well!

We need to transition to a big kid bed ASAP (climbing out!)– any tips on the transition? And are you using a regular twin bed for Anton or something else? Thanks!

Me too — would love to know about Anton’s transition and bed size. I remember a little while back you posted something about a tiny bed the boys found funny. Our 3-year-old will probably transition in a few months. Luckily no climbing (yet)!

Likewise! We’re expecting our second later this year and I’m trying to figure out what we will do when the baby outgrows the nursery. Bunk beds? I’m thinking of getting the ikea Kura (http://m.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/art/80253814/). My son’s three, so too little for a bunk bed yet, but I figure I can convert it to a bunk bed when the time comes …
