Springtime in New York

This is my very first spring in New York (since my move here from Missouri), and the city has started to feel like a scene from a Nora Ephron movie. The daylight lingers into the evening, trees bloom in front of brownstones and ice cream trucks play their tinny-yet-charming tunes. As the weather warms up, I’ve been imagining the places I’ll spend upcoming weekends. (“This dress will be perfect for when I randomly bump into Aziz Ansari and we go picnic in Central Park.”)

Here are a few of the (more likely) scenarios I’ve been dreaming about, plus a little spring wish list…

I can’t wait to take a trip out east to go to the beach and go to sunset happy hour at wolfer estates! Also breakfasts outside at Bluestone Lane Collective Cafe!

Great post! I love all the style suggestions, however, after watching “True Cost”, I’ve made the commitment to only purchase ethically made clothing. Learning that the fashion industry is one of largest polluters on the planet (second only to the petroleum industry) was a shocking revelation, not to mention the endless human rights violations that we unknowingly have a direct hand in when we buy from companies that essentially use slave labor (80% women) to make our clothes was more than a wake up call.
Sorry to go on, that was (a bit of a long winded) all leading up to asking you to consider doing some posts that feature modern/current fashion from ethically sourced/traded companies..?

I’m looking forward to find a solid knit or linen striped dress with short sleeves, and if I can’t find one at the right price, then find material to sew one.

Aww, welcome to spring in New York! One of my fave times in NY, it feels like the city comes alive. I used to live in Park Slope and every day my walk felt like I was in a romantic comedy. So so so beautiful.

Great post Stella! I’d love to hear more about your move to NY? Was it hard kinda plucking up the courage and did you have to start from scratch with making new friends? That seems hardest and scariest – having to find your people in a big city!

Great post, Stella.:) Your off-the-shoulder top is perfect for spring! No sign of cherry blossoms here in Toronto yet, but the spring sunsets have been pretty stunning.

I’m most excited about breaking out the sandals, having brunch, lunch or dinner (& drinks!) on patios, picnics in the park, and outdoor movies (getting ahead of myself since this won’t happen until July). But I can dream…

Ooo, where are the outdoor movies? I just moved to Toronto recently (and I was thiiiiis close to moving to NYC and posts like this make my heart hurt).
