I’ve read every word I can, listened to the podcasts on the links you offered – and pre-ordered a copy for both myself and my father (who teaches/writes about creating value/meaning). Again, thank you for sharing all this pain/beauty. And what a gift from Paul to your niece – she’ll know her remarkable father through his words.

We have a ‘bike highway’ like that in Victoria, BC! It’s a converted railway (mostly paved, some compact gravel) that extends 60km and is for walkers, cyclists, and horse riders. It’s called the Galloping Goose after the 1920s passenger car that used the original railroad. My husband uses it every day for about half of his 15km commute to work. Much of it goes through forest.

The New York Times reviews was incredible and beautiful. Already had me balling, cannot wait to read his story. What a journey. You all must be so incredibly proud.

I can’t wait to read the book. It makes it more poignant in some way knowing the connection to you and your family.

Oh, and for the record, I have 9-year old and 7-year old boys and STILL find ways of playing with them while keeping my hiney firmly planted on the sofa. My fave is to send them on a scavenger hunt through the house to find given objects (something blue, something shiny, something that smells like flowers). Keeps them occupied for a while and let me rest! ;-)

Early in our relationship, my Greek husband made the meatball version of avgolemeno – (fun fact, “avgo” is egg in greek, “lemeno” lemon ;) – and that pretty well solidified we’d spend the rest of our lives together!! I had never tasted a soup so delicious!

Ordered the book straight away. Your sister’s essay moved me to tears and that review would’ve convinced me to buy it, hadn’t I already been planning to because of what you shared on your blog. Weird how you can feel connected to a story from someone you don’t even know, in another continent. Thanks for sharing.
