Do people’s children actually let them dress them like that for Halloween? My kids are five and two, and they barely let me tell them to not wear shorts in fifty degree weather much less choose something as “important” as their Halloween costume. Maybe I just have particularly opinionated kids…?

I have been using my Mia Clarisonic for over two years now and I LOVE IT. I have seen a HUGE change in my skin (started at 45 years old) At that time I also starred using all Kiehl’s products. So it may be a combo of the two that worked for me but I swear by the Mia. Get one. Thanks for your blog- as always I just love your take on the world.
Side note- I thought Gone Girl was the worst movie I’ve ever seen.

Mia 2 is the best i read about it last year and recieved one that christmas. I cant live without it now!!! People always ask me what i use and i tell them mia 2 and philosiphy pure. Another fantastic peoduct is grease lightening by lush!!!!!

Thanks for sharing this list, I enjoyed reading the different links so much! I especially loved the links about adult blogging and the underground railroad.

The first made me smile and think that I really need to remember this tip for later :)

And the second was not only beautiful to look at those photos but also really stirred some kind of emotion in me.

Oh the picky eaters made me laugh! My son – also named Xander, will not eat banana strings – or anything else like it ie: melted cheese cannot lap over his piece of pizza or he will ignore it until “mommy fix”)

Hi! I’m also reading Gone Girl and loving it. It’s amazing how the author describes their relationship in such a profound way, such bitterness and ambiguity. A really good essay on humanity.

The book was insanely good. I don’t think I have read a book like this in a long time. One that I don’t want to put down, that I regret starting to read so late at night!

Without spoiling it – I was slightly disappointed with the ending! There were so many endings I would have preferred!

Can’t wait to see what the film is like. If they ruin anything, make anything better (mostly the ending – the rest is ace anyway!)

I loved all of them as always !! My niece has to be the worse picky eater ever !! Only certian types of meat that’s all!!! She’s so adorable. I will have a time when she come and spends winter break with me. She’s 12 and she hasn’t grown out of it. Then I realized I haven’t myself so I am an annoying picky eater too. There should be an adult club. And the moon rise kingdom costumes adult version had came to mind now to get one of the kids to dress with their dear aunt.

Kelsey Long, you aren’t the only one. I tried to read it, gave up halfway through. I absolutely hated the book. Thought I’d try again…nope, couldn’t do it. I read a review with spoilers purposely – the 2 reviewers hated it too. And…I won’t see the movie. So no…there are others!

I read Gone Girl about a year ago and could not put it down. It was such chilling insight into our minds and relationships. The scariest thing is you could totally relate to both characters…

Hey Joanna,

I enjoy your friday links a lot but today’s baby boom makers hit home. I live in DC and gave birth to our second daughter at another hospital because Sibley, our designated hospital, was diverging patients meaning all their labor and delivery beds were occupied. Sibley was not the only district hospital diverting, we ended up in Georgetown University’s in the last bed. Everyone was joking about these sequester babies being born all over the city and how major hospitals were at full capacity. Many mothers like me ended up giving birth without their doctors and in other hospitals it was quite the rollercoaster ride. ��

I have been trying to read Gone Girl since the movie is officially out, but for some reason I am having a hard time getting into it. I feel like I am the only person on the planet who is having this issue. I must just need to give it more time!

Gone Girl is sooo good! I can’t wait to see the movie. Also, the Clarisonic Mia is my number one can’t-live-without beauty product. I would recommend using the sensitive brush heads unless you have incredibly tough skin.
