Aw, my dad made these for me and my sisters growing up. He’ll still make me an “egg in the nest” with whatever cookie cutter we pick out. The best is eating the cut-out heart (or star, or horse) of fried toast. Yum!

I’ve actually made this for my husband on Valentine’s Day morning! (Just using a heart shaped cookie cutter.) My mom always called an egg fried in the middle of bread a toad in the hole :)

I have one of these heart shape egg cookers.
Actually you can cook loads of things in them. I make pancakes and my sweetie pie boyfriend used it to cut toast into heart shapes for me one morning as a surprise.

Would be cheaper to just cut out a heart in the bread and cook the egg right in the bread! Very cute idea though:)
