Emily recently wore these adorable Gap khakis–which she found in the men’s section! They’re so relaxed and baggy, but I love how she rolled them up and wore heels.
What do you think? Would you wear men’s pants? (Here’s the women’s version.)

I like her style.
She looks cool and simple.
She made it well.
I love how she rolled them up and wore heels.

The boyfriend pants is a hot spring trend for 2009.
I like them a lot especially paired with the heels, but I think I’d go with the women’s version to avoid the bagginess in the crotch region…

Trends don’t flatter all body types. Even Katie Holmes who started this trend doesn’r quite look good in it.
Very impressive write up, Please keep on posting! dsi solutions review
it’s a very attractive look and works great I think these are very nice what a great idea. Good job! And these photos are super stunning! Wow! It’s a great.
Thanks
Do! I used to borrow/steal my little brother’s cargo shorts all the time. They really worked with my little teenage figure, and I looked fashion-forward since bermuda shorts were not popular for women at the time. I also love men’s blazers on women – although, it has to be a fitted blazer that isn’t too big.
those are adorable! i love that!
Perfectly imperfect!
Not flattering
love them! even though i’m not so thin, i’m lucky because i’m tall so they look ok!
I LOVE this style.
I have a pair I bought in the women’s section though…Did an outfit post in them the other day: http://www.bobbylicious.co.za/2011/04/what-bobby-wore-to-breakfast.html
Well . . . she pulled it off nicely. Agreed that, if you’re 5’3″ it’s not going to go as well, heels or no heels. For some reason, boyfriend jeans/baggy jeans in general remind me of painting class.
I am glad to read the post but some difficulties are behind them which creates negative impact on it I hope it will be more advanced in the future. Bubble hash bags and pollen presses
I definitely think it’s a do, as long as it looks right. I love how Emily wore them, only thing I wish she added a little skinny belt to her outfit. I feel it would’ve broken up how long the pelvic area looks. Maybe a fun yellow one perhaps? :)
Oh, I LOVE boyfriend jeans! They’re so comfy, and look great on some body types. I don’t think they’re really the best look for me, personally, but I wear them anyway ;)
Love the look on you!
Can’t stand the crotch. She’s adorable…but I still can’t stand the crotch…lol.
HOT SHOES!
I love the length and the cut in the legs of men’s pants, but like so many have already said, the waist and hips and crotch are a bit of and issue

YES!!!! just need to find a pair that fall perfectly over my ample bootie and hips! love this look tho.
I’m not a fan.
I’m pretty sure she could wear anything and it would look great & hip. I think I’ll stay in the women’s section. Whatever man could wear those pants she has on should probably be shopping in the women’s section!
I like the boyfriend jeans but I’m more in love with the mariniére she’s wearing!!! I just recently did a special on la mariniére in my blog.
Love! It’s all about body type and styling. Her simple yet feminine pieces make this a big DO! Going online to find the pants now… ;)
Crotch is too baggy and low. I’d prefer the women’s any day.
I don’t love this look. I don’t think it highlights the beautiful parts, instead it highlights the not-so-beautiful parts. But then again when you’re pretty like the model is anything goes.
love this look! i was shocked as well when she wrote that she found them in the mens section. i sometimes try my bf’s jeans on for that baggy bf jean style, but it never works just right. but these mens pants fit her like perfectly high waited trousers, she looks great! and the cutsie gap heels make the look!

Do if they look like this.
I loved this look on her but I’ve got to agree with some of the other commenters, the crotch does look a little funny. Which is why when they made boyfriend jeans/pants for women it was perfect! Loose in all the right areas and tight where we need it to be :) Emily could do no wrong in my book though so I still give her a major thumbs up.
They are too loose in the crotch…looks funny!
I like the look of short/cropped/baggy pants with heels. The shoes dress the outfit up and but the pants keep it casual. I think it’s a good balance.
a YES if they look right. Unfortunately these look too big in the crotch – sorry! they do. And i loooove Emily and her style. Love! But sometimes things that *feel* great don’t look great. It doesn’t mean you shouldn’t wear those things…. It’s just real life!
For me even the womens pants are too baggy from the tights, so i guess mens pants even more – so I would say no for this look. And I think it looks too baggy in this photo too.. sorry! everyone luckily has their own taste and can wear anything they like :)
No…not even if your Emily. Sorry-they look like she’s wearing mens pants that don’t fit.
I think a totally “do” for tall chicas!
I think they are a “do” if you’re skinny. :)
I think she wears them well and they look quite chic (despite being a bit long in the crotch). But I really wouldn’t really describe them as baggy. They don’t really look like men’s pants at all. I’ve seen women’s pants look more baggy, relaxed and masculine than this. So is it okay to wear men’s pants? Depends on the style of the men’s pants in question and it depends on the woman’s body shape. I personally would rather wear a man-style pant designed for a woman’s body so the fit is more appropriate for my figure. Sorry for the rant! :)
Men’s pants are not tailored for a woman’s body, hence the baggy crotch part in the front (excuse my language I couldn’t think of anything technical).
I’d rather wear womens pants with a menswear feel, that way I’ll know they’ll fit correctly but I can still achieve. I mean, we have parts that mens clothing can’t accommodate properly unless the pieces aren’t fitted.
I think Emily looks super cute in her pants-from-the-men’s-section…I just don’t think I could pull off this look. She could probably pull off just about anything, though. So, do for her, but maybe a don’t for lots of other people.
Funny, I was actually thinking men’s pants would work for my body type, which, as you both know, is curvy with a side of curves. But according to these commenters, it sounds like I’m way off?! Em looks awesome though. You should def do this, too. I could so see you rocking this look with some red lips!
no
I think that when a woman dresses to kill it’s typically to kill a guy. She’s HOTT in those khaki baggies with too much crotch. I won’t say that every woman would agree, certainly not for themselves if they don’t like that look, but for a guy, there’s something VERY sexy about this look. Plus girl-boys are extra hot anyway, lol! (shhh)
DON’T. There is too much crotch going on.
Do. For sure.
A definite do! I love this look! Checked out the female version of the pants, but love this version waaaaay more!
Emily needs to buy the womens version.
They’re cute on her legs, but the crotch area puckers weirdly and I doubt they’re very flattering from behind… Men and ladies just aren’t built the same!
Do. And you don’t have to have a specific body type or height to pull it off. There are so many ways to do it. I’ve seen so many cute ways on all different kinds of women.
I used to wear my brother’s carpenter pants in the spring and summer with a feminine white blouse. The baggy, relaxed fit is perfect for San Diego beach weather :)
I love it !

I do not have the body type to pull off such a look without looking like a frump, but they definitely work on her. I think it’s a look for the taller, more slender builds as opposed to the athletic, thicker legged girls like me.

Do! I am quite curvy when it comes to hip/waist proportions, and most of the time, men’s pants fit better than women’s, even in the crotch area. Men’s pants often hit higher at the waist, and are easier to take in if needed. And I’m about 5’5″, and they don’t make me look bulky or short! You just have to find the right ones!
A man’s perspective… Oh-my-gumbo **drops dead**
SUPER DO! she looks so chic in those pants. I’m scared I can’t pull them off though. I have large calves so boyfriend pants/jeans end up looking bulky on my legs.
i do. i already buy ‘boyfriend’ cut jeans, so it only makes sense to buy the men’s pants. it’s not because of height (5’8″ which isn’t THAT tall). it’s because my thighs are thunderous, not little sticks, and i have no waist….actually, i am built more like a guy (sigh).
i wear it and i love your and Emilyblog..so cute!
I think Emily can pull them off (love her blog!) but I think I like the girl version better. It’s just too baggy at the top for me:)
