Another fall trend is the cape. They’re super chic and would be cozy on a crisp fall day. Would you wear one?

I absolutely love this show – I think especially the pink accents, trying to keep it too boxy and masculine. I have a jacket like that I love to rock with jeans and a red lip.
Pending the story of the birth when you’re ready to share! It will be very special to have captured in words, so I’m sure you will keep it just as special!
You completed a number of fine points there. I did a search on the matter and found most folks will have the same opinion with your blog.
Certain people are the hardest things to let go. But you are right, you cannot extract a person from an object. I find that being grateful for the time I had with the person brings joy and helps alleviate the grief.
Yes! In fact I’m 5 mos. pregnant and have been trying to find a vintage or affordable cape to wear into the colder months. No luck though!
love the ease and simplicity of a cape plus it always looks chic!

I have a simple black cape from last year that I love. They’re so functional, and I love how they can be casual or dressy.
Just got one today!
They look very comfty and warm, can’t help but feeling a bit like ‘red riding hood. LOL
I love capes!
Capes looks great! It adds fashion to your wardrobe! Especially during cold days. Love it!
definitely! i love that first one!
I would like to own one, but I don’t think they are very practical. I ride my bike a lot and I think the wind would go straight through it, so you’ll be chilled every time there’s just a wisp of wind. Or when you ride your bike.
Love it! I would definitely wear one!!!
love their heels so amazing
wow so warm and comfy
Yes I would. I love that they can keep out the cool autumn chill and yet give more freedom of movement than most jackets.
Yes! And I love mine : http://notyourgoddess.blogspot.com/2009/12/miabella-photography.html
I have one, from a vintage shop in Iceland. It’s cement gray, with a Lincoln Center theatre-curtain-red lining
I love capes! Yes I would and do wear them.
Yes.
Those look seriously comfortable and warm!

I like the cape trend. Very hard to pull off here in Cali, but I like it!
Yes, and especially if I had that gold bubble skirt at bottom to pair it with!
I would absolutely wear the first one.. love it..!
I WOULD!
I JUST POSTED ABOUT CAPES IN MY BLOG YESTERDAY! NOW I’M SURE THAT THEY ARE GOING TO BE IT!
IT’S A SHAME IT’S STILL PRETTY WARM IN NY, BUT SOON…
XOXO FROM A BRASILIAN NEW YORKER!
I love capes!!!! Instant classic.
The capes at Zara are quite pleasing to the eye, but I found them to be incredibly impractical in person. More than $100 for a thin cape with a small closure at the top that won’t keep you warm at all? I was disappointed.
So I opted for this one from Asos in Khaki(http://www.asos.com/Asos/Asos-Hooded-Military-Cape/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=1162523&SearchQuery=capes&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=-1&sort=-1&clr=Black).
Joanna, you would look fantastic in a cape! Go for it… can’t wait to see pictures!
love this one a lot. http://www.zara.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product/de/de/zara-sales/11015/83735/CAPE%2BMIT%2BKAROMUSTER
wowie. looking forward to colder days <3
I bought a suede cape from a vintage shop in the 90s but never got up the nerve to wear it, can you believe that? Gawd I was shy in high school, never wanted to draw attention to myself but my sartorial aesthetic was already veering toward the dramatic. This time around, I’m NOT letting the inner wallflower keep me from wearing a cape! I found a beautiful leather-trimmed, fully lined wool plaid cape (by Pendleton, no less; Oregonian pride!) on etsy for $25. I’ve got to take in the shoulders, but by gum, I’m gonna do it and rock that cape!
Heck yeah! Lurv!
I loooove capes and I have coveted the one from the first picture since it came out! I have a cape and I love it!
hell yes!
Oh yeah! And gloves. I should move somewhere colder.
yup. agreed. capes are cool. :)

This is random, but I was perusing a Teen Vogue at the doctor’s office today and that second photo was in there attached to a scandalous story about how those two teens tried to sneak into Fashion Week. Wild!
She sure can put a cute outfit together though!
Ouuuu you’ve read my mind! I totally want a cape too!!!
If I can’t find one, I’ll have to make one myself :)
Anyone have any idea who makes the first cape pictured? I love that one.
i think these girls look gorgeous in their capes! almost enough to tempt me into wanting one although it’s so cold around here i’d probably want sleeves, too :)
I would wear a cape in a heartbeat…being in Minnesota, I will need one soon! That girl looks like Whitney Port but not sure?!
Who cares about capes, what I want is her Alexander Wang bag!!! (But I love capes too!)
I would totally wear one! They are much more versatile when it comes to different hem lengths!
L
Love this trend! I think I need to find a cape asap :)
Im loving this look too. I had my eye on that ASOS military cape earlier this week, love it in both colors!
xx

I am totally into capes, I have a bright red one that kind of looks like little red riding hood.. it’s so cute I adore wearing it.
I want a wool plaid one…
I would definitely wear a cape. they are so chic but also so practical. I love them with long leather gloves too. Get your capes on ladies!!
Nicola
Are you kidding I bought one a couple years ago.
Ohhh I love them! The first one is gorgeous x
Such a great look! I’m luck enough to have inherited 2 from the early 60’s made of camel hair. They belonged to my mom, fortunatly she had amazing taste. I also inherited a set of Pringle of Scotland cashmere cardigans, and a killer aligator skin handbag.
I have one and wear it all the time. My students always laugh and say I REALLY look like a teacher when I wear it. It’s amazing – perfect for season transitions.
I have a wool poncho, it’s itchy as hell, but I love that thing. If I cut some arm holes in the front can I call it a cape?
living in italy has given me fashion courage and i would absolutely wear both capes!
The girl in the second photo looks glamourous!
I have a fantastic green and blue plaid vintage cape that I sadly cannot wear as it is too slim through the shoulders. But I would totally wear it if I could!
ahhhh i LOVE the cape!! i would definitely wear one…i’m not sure who the girl is but she looks fab.
My grandmother was kind enough to give me a beautiful irish wool plaid cape purchased in Ireland back in the late 60s it’s stunning, I have been wearing it for 2 yrs and have never gotten so many compliments on one article of clothing, people legitimately stop me on the street to ask about it. Last year a couple of the original navy buttons started to get loose from years or wear, so I went to MJ Trimming on 6th Ave and got some beautiful gold buttons, I cannot wait for it to get cold enough to wear it again!!
I adore these looks and would wear one in a heartbeat! Thanks for this post!
would totally wear one! (if i didn’t live in az…)
;)
i like!
I can’t wait to wear my cape..I bought it 2 years ago and it when it wasn’t in style, wore it a few times but am gonna rock it this fall!
Absolutely! I’m digging this whole East Coast prep thing. Yay for fall.
So funny, I did a preppy-inspired post today too! XOXO Valerie

Definitely. I think they’re very chic.
ohhh yes. definitely a must this season!
Awww, this post reminds me of my dad. Before he died, he always wore a poncho. He had a bright yellow one!
Yes, I’d absolutely wear one! In fact, I DID wear one in a shoot for my husband this past winter.
It’s my mom’s and she wouldn’t let me steal it from her, because her best friend made it for a college fashion design class! So cool.
Yes, now this fall trend I would wear. Very classy!
Yes love them! I especially like them in solid colors like navy blue or pale pink.
i would absolutely wear one! in fact i already own an awesome red one from american apparel. but i LOVE that plaid brown one. goodness gracious.
I absolutely love capes…especially that 1st tweed one!!
I vote Yay! (for capes this fall and early winter)
