How fun are these color system tattoos? So cute for a couple.
P.S. The New York Times should write an article about how adorable and creative tattoos are becoming.

UHH!!! I am hoing to get a tattoo when I turn eighteen. Hopefully my Mom won’t faint o_O
Let’s just say that she doesn’t like the idea of me getting a tatto ;D
I really want to have one on the left side of my shoulder but i am afraid of the pain.
My friend is into tattoo lettering so she had on on her back that says “my wings, my gravity”. She had it done for on her father’s 100th day death celebration. She said her dad always reminds her to reach for her dream and to keep her feet on the ground.
Tattoos are so ’90s. I can’t believe anyone still gets them.
Haha, the mustache tattoo is starting to become a family thing. My two older sisters have one and I plan on getting one in a few years. (:
Here is a lovely webcomic that I’m sure you will enjoy. I’m featured in this one and you can see a drawing on my own tattoo :)http://www.topshelfcomix.com/ts2.0/unspent_love_ch6/
I think this is one of the best tattoo pairings I’ve ever seen. So simple, yet so creative!
oh yes, i’ve seen these before…so cute! i’m in love with all the cute & creative tattoos going around lately.
i got one myself earlier this summer. : )

they’re so pretty
Cute!
wow, these are so cute, I love them!!
katie is right! those are jessica hische and russ’ tattoes!
so so so agree! oh my gosh hahah the times should definately, tattoos are amazing im getting my first one next year.x
Tattoos really are becoming so much more creative. I love it!
I want to get one so bad, but I’m just too indecisive and get worried about getting turned away from jobs after college because of them…
ahh tattoos really are becoming so wonderful!
i’m dying to get one, but i can’t decide on a design, there is too much inspiration out there!
this is way TOO ADORABLE! :)
Horray for tattoos. I have a vine on my lower back with 3 Hibiscus flowers on it (for Huzz, and the 2 kiddos). There’s definitely been a enormous turnaround on the attitude towards tattoos these past few years. These coloured ones are pretty cute.
yes and Alex should write it!
oh i LOVE this! i’ve thought about getting a tattoo for ages, but as an artist i couldn’t decide on one thing that i would want on me forever…but this might do the trick :)
WTF!!! That’s the tattoo I’ve always wanted. His, with the white middle…
Seeing it already on someone is both a little disappointing and fabulous… It looks amazing…
love your blog, and just made a video about a pretty tattoo! check it out at mine.

thanks :)
Do you have one?
These ARE adorable. They almost make me want to get a tattoo. Almost.
one of my best friends has pop art tattoos. one Mondrian, a Lichtenstein, and a Warhol.
I’m so obsessed with tattoos right now. They’re just a beautiful art form.
I love this particular one! i saw it on Design Crush yesterday!
YOU should write that article for the New York Times. You wrote the mono colour wardrobes article for them didn’t you? Maybe you can persuade them to let you write this. Or are you just thinking ‘if only’ : )
that’s so cute!
i’m about to go get my second tattoo…my maiden name!
That’s kinda cute! (:
That is super creative! Not sure if I would have that exact tattoo on my body forever, but props to this couple for being original!
Boy I think anonymous has never been in love! haha Not that my hubby would EVER get a tattoo but the concept is great. And what a great idea for someone in a creative field.
xo
amanda
Such a cute/creative idea!! Thank you sharing :)

Cute idea! I love the originality. I never pictured myself as the tattooing type, but I love my tattoos.
If you didn’t know already those tattoos belong to typographer/designer Jessica Hische and art director Russ Maschmeyer.
Nice hinting to your husband!!!
I like the tattoos, I have always liked tattoos but I am uncertain on if I ever want to get one or not it would need to have a special meaning, not just a tattoo you know?…Joanna, would you and Alex ever do something like that?
Very original and creative. I always like to look at other tattoos from an artistic standpoint but I’m too fickle to ever ink up my body.
Yes, Yes!! My husband and I have been trying to come up with some tattoo that symbolizes both of our daughters. My husband’s left leg is covered with ink and he already has tattoos of fetus under his arms for the girls….
I want something that is cute, & not too hardcore since my other tattoos are tiny and inked in hidden spots. Really lovely tattoos!
yes definitely! Couples getting branded together is like a modern day form for tribal identification! Love!
xo tash
when the people age they’re not going to be very vain anymore anonymous.
cute colours!
Tattoos are never sweet or cute. These will look ridiculous when these people age.
cute cute!
cute cute! I also really love the sailboat tattoo you featured before
everton, that is hilarious :) and Stur, SO INTERESTING! thanks for explaining. xo
yikes! This makes me want another tattoo! :]
So Sweet
haha, deanna, i wish he could write a story like that! he has a Thursday Styles column now about movers and shakers (called “Up Close”). but someone should write about tattoos, since mostly i want to see a slideshow of awesome ones! :)
Couldnt aggree more on the PPS! lol
I always have admired tattoos from a far, but never had the guts for one (as well as some familial pressures). What would everyone get for a tattoo? I’m struggling to think of something I’d like now (and in 20 years)!
Becca
I love tattoos that are bold – those are awesome!
So cute. Just adding to my recent tattoo cravings. You should check out the one I just posted on tuesday. It’s amazing. http://www.thesensesfive.com/sight/canvas/
Lovely and whimsical!
I love the colors! And you’re right, tattoos are becoming creative, which I think is awesome! :)
These are great. Alex should totally write about them!
Yeah, tattoos are definitely more widely accepted now a days. I’ve got 4 and have been wanting another…addictiiiinng! lol
Colorful tattoos with minimal black are my favorite to look at. Especially these- color wheels rock!
Those are adorable! A few weeks ago I was unhappy to see that someone in the Style section wrote a pretty scathing piece about tattoos. Alex should write a rebuttal! I got my first tattoo in May and even though they’re visible to the world, tattoos have personal meaning that I don’t think can be criticized by any hawk-eyed stranger.
Lovely!!! Have you seen my favorite tattoos???

I’m thinking about getting one as well… :)

So cute! It’s subtractive and additive color! (Being the print nerd that I am, we studied RGB vs CMYK in college…)
Now, if only I could be decisive enough to figure out if I want to take the ink-plunge.
My friends decided to skip the weddingrings and made tato of eachothers inituals at the ringfingers instead – cute. different.
haha! that is so nerdy and cute
I almost fainted when I saw one on my 23 year old daughter. I thought for certain my mother would have to be taken to the hospital when she found out and all she said was “oh they’re all getting those nowadays aren’t they”. Seriously.
Its adorable:)..I really want one but I am so affraid of the pain…I am planning to get one for my 30th:)..Kisses and have a great morning:)
They are adorable!
X
These are really cute!
That PPS wasn’t a subtle hint to the hubs, was it?
I have a little peace sign tat on my hip, and my husband and I are getting tattoos of each other’s initials when our anniversary rolls around, except the initials are in the cryptic code from Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes/Tale of the Dancing Men story. That way, if for some reason things don’t work out (I hope we’re together forever, of course!), we’re not stuck explaining someone’s initials on our skin for the rest of our lives!
