This may be the new trend in jeans but i have to say i’m sticking to my black straight legs there comfy and they never cease to amaze my friendss when i wear them in summer when their in the shortest shorts that i have ever and most probably will ever see
I love them! If you were petite like me, high heels is a must! The higher, the better : )
Love them, they are so feminine looking and accentuate a female body so nicely, BUT, if you have a belly ring as I do, they are horrendous. I’ve gotten rid of my high waist jeans/pants for this very reason. :o(
I have always adored them. They turn your silhouette ribbon-like, how could you not like them!
My man doesn’t think much of them either. I think in this case it is best to please oneself. The best pairs I have seen (albeit without trying on) are Chloe and Maise (Australia) in pale blue. My own favourite pair were a vintage find from the 70s. I loved them until they fell apart. That was a sad day!

i love mine – admittedly they aren’t the most flattering on my hourglass figure, but i love how the feel & the overall look.

why don’t “boys” like ’em? My husband’s not a fan…Me: I love them on others, but haven’t even tried them on. I’m way to short and have not the body for such things. If you can wear them…do it! Girls will at least swoon with a bit of jealousy.
I just bought high waisted pants at Anthropologie–and I feel so Katharine Hepburn in them.

back when i was 30lbs lighter i wore jeans like this to work (as a bartender) and while my back is to one of my regulars, who’s about 20 years my senior, he says, “where’d you get those jeans? damn. haven’t seen those since i was your age.” i was horrified and immediately sold them to buffalo exchange. i think they’re hot, but i probably have too much junk in the trunk for them now. plus, i think they might only attract guys like Doug.
Being long-torsoed and short-legged, these jeans were pretty much made for me.

truth is, most women look terrible in high waited jeans, some brave to wear them with mixed results and most know they will never have the body to wear them and avoid them at all costs.
what really matters for women though, sadly is what men think and to tell you the truth, they look awful…period.
I have a pair and absolutely love em, but with the men I think it is half and half, I have had some just disgusted with my jeans and others just think its the sexiest thing..
love um. im short and i’d like to think that i pull off my grey ants. love the highwaisted skirts / shorts / skinnys as well!

i love them! especially that pair on that girl. my boyfriend doesn’t like them, but i think if i find the right pair that fits me well he’d come around. until then…he likes me in my frumpy skinny jeans that are too loose.

I think high-waisted jeans look lovely on tall figures, or with really high heels. Paired with the right accessories, they can really look special! I love high-waisted skirts too :)
I want to be fashion forward and open minded, but I can’t bring myself to like them too much. I DO like them if they’re more like dress pants and styled with a crisp white shirt and heels, sort of a la 1940s style. But otherwise, no. They also squish my belly fat, so they can be uncomfortable, lol. At least the low-rise jeans allow it to spill over the waistband! :)

i love high-waisted jeans… from the front. From the back (even on the tiniest and petites girls) the dreaded… long butt. Ickers.
trust me, no boyfriend will like high-waist jeans untill they see you in them. it happened to me! but they are great! (not soo comfy to sit down in though..) good luck!!

I love ’em. I have a cute but cheap pair from F21 that I bought several months ago, and I am still amazed by how many compliments I get on them… even from people like my dad, who has no fashion sense! :)
I am certainly glad to see some zippers longer than two inches!… okay, an exageration!… but these are not for a 4’11” person who could lose a couple pounds!…

Yes, yes on the high waisted jeans. I wish all the jeans with 1/2 inch zippers would disappear.
I am not a fan of the high-waisted jean. So few people have the body for them, and even then I don’t like the look! I am, however, in love with high-waisted pencil skirts. So lovely and ladylike!
high wasted jeans are a perfect example of chicks dressing for chicks ie – keeping up with fashion trends. yes, some women can rock a high waist but overall my vote is no thank you.
i think you are tall and skinny enough to pull this look off. not many gals can so go for it if you have the legs!! :)
Every single guy I’ve talked to about them hates them- including my gay guy friends! Personally I think they look terrible unless you are thin, flat stomach, shapely thighs and and also have a butt. Very few women can pull them off!

i like them…but only if you have no hips…not so good for us “hippy” gals.
You know, in the summer I wore high waisted shorts all the time and I got very mixed reviews from both males and females. In the end, I loved how they looked even if nobody else did and that’s what I went with. If they look right and you feel comfortable and sexy in them, I think your boyfriend will see that and change his mind.
I love this pic. She looks so cool and confidant. You need the right body to pull them off. I don’t think I can. I’m a middle of the road girl. It’s all in the hips and leg.
I love them – but only on certain people. Since I’m 5’4″ and tiny, they don’t look that great on me – but my 5’10” friend looks amazing in them….so I think it all depends on your body type. And I loooove Nick’s comment!!

Having been used as a talking mirror by a variety of girls over the years I’ve had a number of hours (banished to the occasionally seated waiting area outside changing rooms) to consider the dilemma of waist line on jeans.
In my opinion, It’s a fine line between high-waisted chic, and being a set of shoulder-pads shy of the 80s. I’m not saying that I want to walk around looking at the top of thongs all day (well, I’ve considered it, but where would the life’s intrigue be) from a male perspective though, it’s sometimes difficult to comprehend the conundrum of the high-waister. In some instances it makes the torso of the wearer look like its been shrunk in a horrible accident, in others cases it renders you paralysed with confusion over how and why they have been designed in such a way … a little like when you stare at an Escher sketch for too long.
Nevertheless, I’ve been left drooling after a pair of shapely hips perfectly accentuated by the right pair of jeans. I think your commenters have it perfectly sewn up, don’t let your trouser choice be determined by fashion, let it be determined by your figure and what you look great in. That way us poor men won’t be wandering around looking at fashion victims assuming thats how bad our gorgeous spouses could look in them.
I think it just depends on your body type. High waist jeans make me look HUGE!

I love them only when they’re not skinny jeans. High wasted skinny jeans don’t look good on anyone.
But, I’ve found that every single guy I know HATES them! I’m not sure what it is, but they make boys cringe.

I wish all jeans were somewhere between low rise and these. I sit on the floor a LOT (2 little boys) and always struggle to find an appropriate pair that aren’t too revealing and are comfortable!

If you have the bod for them, go for it.. I have a very long torso and shorter legs… would look like an empire waist on me!! The model in the pic looks fab! I think classic, “at the waist” or just a tad below waist looks great on most bods.. The low waist..NO …
If you can pull these off, then I say go for it! Personally, I would have a$$ for weeks in these jeans. The model looks great though!

I’ve seen exactly two people who have looked good in them and they were both very skinny. So eh, I wouldn’t wear them but if you can pull it off, why not?
high-waisted jeans are by far the best look for me. can’t you show pictures to Alex of Ali McGraw from the 70’s and make him re-think his opinion? :)

i love it. unfortunately i don’t have the body to pull it off. i’m on the lanky and lean side without much going on in the rear, so it looks horrendous on me.
