Alex and I escaped from the city this weekend to relax at the Jersey shore. We stayed at this lovely B&B and swam in the ocean, read books on the porch and ate chicken sandwiches with fries. Alex body-surfed but I was a wuss about the waves and only went up to my knees. Overall, the beach was gorgeous and everyone was really friendly. We even met a dude with a pet parrot!

That’s hilarious! Hello, Lucy’s twin sister!
I always thought Lucy had an amazing look – super cool bright colors in the hair, a great big wide smile, burst of sunshine. I can now extend the compliment to you– ! :)
In any event, thanks for the blog, it’s great to have your entries popping up as I slog away on my thesis.
You are adorable and so very stylish in your cute white suit! It looks like a simply lovely weekend!
xo
Melissa
how fun! you look so happy and relaxed. that is great to see! books, fries and the ocean are known to have that effect. : )
absolutely love the “i love my roommate” t shirt, you should definitely sell it on etsy, joanna! cute message, without being too lovey-dovey ewww (eg. “i love my boyfriend” doesn’t sound as cute.)
and the photo with alex caught in the waves is perfect.
I want to go to the jersey shore! You two are so cute and seem to live a lovely and charmed life. I hope your big news is that you are going to take the next big step together!
haha, caitin! this is joanna — lucy’s twin sister! xo joanna
i don’t know why, the ‘jersey shore’ is such an evocative word pair. i’ve never been, but it looks lovely!
Hot damn! Google Readers suggested this as a new feed, and I wandered on over only to see a recognizable Goddard face pop up. Either Lucy is in this post or you look amazingly alike — we lived together at the Rochdale in New Haven.
Hi Lucy!
And I *am* adding this to the Reader – you find excellent things.
You guys are so cute. But I am biased… Great photos!
Oh, yay! You were in my ‘hood. And I love me some Wonder Bar. :-)
These are lovely. It looks like a wonderful time!
I love the photo of you and the waves… beautiful shot!
looks like a perfect weekend… love your t-shirt!
super cute. looks like you two had a good time.
yes, it does, paige! :) and you guys are so cute, maybe i will open a little etsy shop after all! xo
you kids might be the cutest thing to ever hit jersey!! joanna- does your shirt say “i love my roommate” because if so you are the most adorable thing ever!
yes — would definitely buy that shirt. so cute! :)
In that bodysurfing shot, I look like I’m sitting in a throne of spray. Any furniture designer who can make a chair like that, I’m buying it!
I was at the Jersey shore this weekend too- I am also scared of waves. I have been pummeled one too many times.
OMG! Your boyfriend is also Scarlett Johansson’s!!! (at least he looks like him -Ryan Reynolds- when he wears beard)
this looks like the most perfect way to spend the weekend! lovely photos and oh, so relaxing.
everything looks wonderful, especially the two of you! love the duck crossing sign and your t-shirt.
Any place calm enough for duck crossings looks divine. And so much fun!
Jo— You and Alex are just about the cutest couple in the world. :)
Cheers to bearded beaus.
Lovely pics :)
what an absolutely incredible weekend! that b&b, the beach, the food…perfection! also, loved seeing the pictures of you two!
those pictures are great! you guys look so relaxed and happy. And yes, you should definitely start selling some of those shirts!
xo
I want one!
yes! :) i made it the day that alex and i moved in together. i might start selling them on etsy :)
Glad you had fun! Also Jo, I really loved your “I love my roomate” t-shirt. Is it what it says?
the duck crossing sign is very cute! also you two are adorable.
we stayed in spring lake — it’s lovely!
Beautiful….isn’t the Jersey shore a great get away! What town did you stay in?
so lovely. yea, that’s not the part of Jersey I know. my mom has a house in seaside park. it’s great in the off-season. isn’t it wonderful to have a porch?! xo
Everyone's list is so personal.
Anton's cousin came to visit NYC, and here's what we did.
