What won’t we do? By the wonderful Grace Farris.
P.S. Embarrassing routines and wise words.
She might not do all of this but she will always be enough as is.
Here’s mine! (International MOVE coming)
She might start packing
She might tidy the house so the estate agent can come and not run away in horror
She might work on work deliverables while child enjoys her weekend Ipad time.
She might take the kid to go get a pre-travel manicure together, and to walk around the local art fair.
(The last one is a WILL).
Am I the only mom who feels like even this simple list is a bar just too high to reach? The season change feels like a new to-do list and another set of things I’ll probably not get to in time.
On my weekend list: walk, breathe, shower, be nice to my people.
YES!!!!!!!! Unless by “might,” we mean, “wants to, would love to, but in this feels-like-running-a-gauntlet-stage-of-life will absolutely not.” ;)
i definitely noticed these all started with “might”. i took that to mean they were somewhat aspirational but if it doesn’t happen that’s ok too.
I was expecting this to end with “she might be chasing children all day and can’t manage to get anything else done!”
Haha the “might” are important here- that’s why I relate to it so much! I’ve talked about doing all of these things every weekend and still have not done one. But it puts me in a good mood to talk about it! Fall!
she might cheer on her kid(s), friends kid(s) at a soccer game
I feel seen.
All of the above! I love Grace Farris’s art on your blog. Tonight we are making “Pumpkin Stuffed With Everything Good” for dinner, and I think we may actually be able to make it twice this fall before pumpkin season is over!
Fascinating, I had never heard of this and just looked up the recipe. Sounds intriguing and I might just have to try it.
Doesn’t Ms. Farris usually get the byline on these?
Also, Oklahoma has fall for about 20 minutes. Buying pumpkins while wearing shorts is not as fun!
She may live in Texas……and will have to put this list off until mid-November!
Haha!
Yep! This is me.

Hi there! Your posts are no longer showing up on my Feedly feed. I switched the link out to be cupofjo.com but it is still not working. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks!
Thank you!!
So glad to see this comment and answer- I was getting nervous that my favorite Friday habit was gone to me! #pandemicbrain always does to the worst. Looking forward to a massive catch-up when it’s resolved!
I believe it’s called “Sweatah Weathah” :)
Haha shout out to the Boston / MA/ New England cup of jo crew!
3 out of 4, plus researching Halloween costumes. (I want to get a stick on beard and go as Roy Kent. Husband: “Don’t you want to be Rebecca or Keeley?”)
Oh you should do it!
If I needed a costume I have already decided I would be “Trent Crimm: The Independent”, just so I can run around saying that and asking people obnoxious questions, notepad and pencil poised.
These are amazing!!
Love this! We are going a Bluey and her family for Halloween. I think if it as a child-friendly Ted Lasso
Exactly! I love the add of figuring out what the kids want to be for Halloween and procuring the parts for said costume. That and watching them play soccer. Glad to have that one back!
Just made this soup for lunch! Here for all the soup :)

I’m not a mom, but all of this still applies to me (I literally just came here to look at some old recipes, ha!).
She might put mums out on the front porch!!!
hahah yes!
3 out of 4 here already today! Now to look up soup recipes… ;)
haha! yes! guilty! and add shopping with GREAT enthusiasm for flannel pajamas and a new mystery novel….while baking apple spice cake.
That sounds perfect, Claire!
I was JUST looking at soup recipes.
As a mom to young kids, I feel seen, but also, I feel like the things this mom is doing are right in line with everything I read about happiness and positive psychology. It’s wonderful that she’s appreciating the leaves and sweater weather, and that she’s finding simple pleasures with the changing of the seasons.
