By the wonderful Grace Farris.
P.S. Bookcase styles and Shakespearean parenting.
I love all of these! I just recently discovered Mary Oliver, what a gem of a woman.
Something about the spring re-invigorates my reading muscles.
After the longest book drought, I fell asleep on the couch last night — apparently hugging the book I stayed up to finish.
(Yaa Gyasi’s ‘Homegoing’ – worth staying up, and worth sleeping on)
Such a good book!!
Favorite book everrrrrrr. Reading Transcendent Kingdom right now!
Yesssss to all of this! Thanks for the sweet illustrations always!
Hahaha, YES, I do this with Mary Oliver.
I’ve never read any Mary Oliver! Just googled her and there are so many books to choose from…where to start? Any Mary Oliver readers out there who can recommend a few titles?
New And Selected Poems Volumes 1 and 2 are a great place to start. I’ve read most of her poetry collections, and those books have some of her best pieces.
Thanks for asking and for the recommendations! I’m not familiar with her either (but will be soon).
I’m too far north for al fresco reading yet, but I look forward to the day. I definitely have enjoyed my rainy day reading and participated in hopeful gardening reading.
I just did the cozy read, it’s raining in Paris. All of these are so so true!
Had to chuckle about the ceremonnial Mary Oliver read (big fat yes, of course).
Alternately, I’ve opted for a beast of a gothic novel in Plain Bad Heroines by Emily M. Danforth, but yes, thrilled that spring is here!
Oh my gosh – the ceremonial Mary Oliver reading. Essential!
Never heard of her. Huh.
oh Celeste, you’re lucky, you will discover such an inspiring poet!
I know! I love her so much. I am glad other people do this.
Including the new Harry Styles movie trailer and an easy way to make a party more fun.
Including a genius hack for overnight flights.
It's always a great day when there is a new Smitten Kitchen cookbook out in the world.
