Animal Wall Stickers

Three-year-old Anton has gotten really into animals. (His favorite game is “Mousey,” where he pretends to be a mouse, and I bring him endless crumbs to eat.) Recently, in the cute new store Maisonette, these animal wall stickers caught my eye. Wouldn’t they be sweet in a kids’ room? It would be nice to have a bear or lion cub keep you company during naps.

Animal Wall Stickers

What kids’ art do you like? What have you hung in your child’s room?

P.S. Pretty quilts, and 12 shared kids rooms.

I found idea on Pinterest and hung images of chimpanzee, hedgehog, racoon & koala I found on shuttertock on my boy’s wall.
I think it will be fun that he’ll get to know animals that are not so common. Especially here in our country. :)

  2. If only they had sea creatures! My 3.5 year old daughter is obsessed with all things ocean and wants to be a marine biologist and “girl diver.” I’ve told her that when we move this summer we can make her a big kid ocean room.

  3. These stickers would be ADORABLE in a children’s room. I loved animals growing up (had more than my fair share of stuffed animals) and secretly would’ve loved to be a zookeeper in another life. Actually, I did dress up as an animal behaviorist (a la Jane Goodall) one Halloween. ;)

I’ve been framing my son’s own paintings and hanging them on the walls in his bedroom and his baby sister’s room. I love it. It adds a very playful element to their spaces and I truly love the colours and creations.

My son was a train crazy kid – I framed a free Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) map. Before bed he would follow the different CTA lines, we’d talk about where I got off the train for work and different lines I could take. His name is Jackson so I also snagged an authentic ‘jackson’ stop CTA sign from a local train museum. He’s 9 now but both are things that he can grow with. My 14 YO is pretty specific but I’ve found fun prints for her room at Renegade Craft Fair that speak to things and people she loves – pizza, drawing, David Bowie.

  6. My son would love these decals! In his room we hang LOTS of his own work, which I either tape up half-assed or frame professionally (theres no in between lol), and also lots of vintage art that I found before he was born. I’m an art teacher, so I kinda go a bit over board with the kid art we have hanging around

My son has a wolf decal from Land of Nod, little picture racks from Ikea to show off his books, and three adorable woodland-themed paintings a friend made to match Mr. Wolf!

I totally get the Mousey game. When I was around Anton’s age I insisted that my mom put out a small bowl of milk for me so that I could slurp from it while crouched on all fours. I was a cat…

I love his work! Thanks for sharing.

  10. I hung an amazing custom portrait of my daughter done from my favourite photo. I let them know the colours of her room so it matches beautifully and my daughter loves saying goodnight to herself each night. If only she stayed in bed when tucked in like the pic does!! http://www.youandmeprints.com

I’m planning on getting some of those gorgeous prints from Jenny Komenda: https://jennysprintshop.com/
And I have “love you to the moon and back” from Land of Nod. They have some great wall art. The thing is, now that I bought that print for my daughter, I know my son will complain that he needs the same one. So I’m holding off until I can order a second one.
They have some lovely animals prints that Anton might like:)

Ah, we have a similar game! supposed to feed my quiet little blue jay seeds. However, sometimes he’s a “sneaky pterodactyl”….these creatures often look and act the same, except the latter is super-offended by seeds! It is SO hard to tell the difference!

I really would like the bear in my office. I wonder if my boss would allow this…probably if I gifted her the lion cub it would be okay.

  15. I love big maps in kids rooms… they’re good for dreaming about future travels and learning about the rest of the world :-)

Anton is such a sweetheart. Mousey sounds precious.

The animal decals are lovely. I got a similar set (below), which are beautiful and so well-made. I have the animals perched along the baseboard in my daughter’s playspace. She’s six months and “talks” to them during tummy time.

I also bought a strip of removable wallpaper and stenciled her name to cut out and stick on the wall above. It’s really fun and there are endless variations possible in how you use the wallpaper. Love these:

I should say – my true favorite item on the wall in her room is her birth greeting from the Obamas. I was thrilled when a friend let me know how to request one. The message is inspiring and filled with hope.

  17. These are so cute! My little-big-girl (also 3) is obsessed with all things in the natural world.

    These are adorable!

Now my boys are older, the Miffy calendar pages I framed are in their little sister’s room. They now have about 12 small frames with pages from a book I disassembled, called Paris and New York. Lots of bold, solid colours with clever graphic design showing traffic lights, buildings, cars etc. They’ve also got a big frame with their hand and foot prints when they were one and four. Other than the minimal cost of light weight frames (with perspex instead of glass since I know my boys…) decorating their room has cost almost nothing.
