Alex and I are preparing to host our very first Thanksgiving (T minus 7 days, everyone!). And we’ve generally been inviting friends over more often since we moved into our new place. One thing that has helped us entertain more easily is getting a few new dishes and serving pieces from Bed Bath & Beyond. Last week, I co-hosted a breakfast to try them all out. Here are a few photos, if you’d like to see…
I joined forces with Erica Cerulo and Claire Mazur, the co-founders of Of a Kind, to invite 25 awesome ladies over for coffee, mimosas and yummy food. It felt so nice to spend the morning with a bunch of smart, funny women.
Bed, Bath & Beyond recently launched a beautiful tabletop and cookware line called Artisanal Kitchen Supply. These dishes are part of its “Curve” collection and come in neutral colors like white, grey and pale mint. The organic shapes look hand-thrown but the prices are a lot more affordable. (The mugs, above, are $6 each, and the plates are $7.)
The delicious food came from Poppy’s, a Brooklyn catering company owned by Jamie Erickson (there she is, above). She served beet-cured salmon tartines with cream cheese; a cheese plate with Marcona almonds and homemade pumpkin butter; fresh veggies and fruit; prosciutto crostini with maple butter; and mini pumpkin bundt cakes.
We also used one of Artisanal Kitchen Supply’s twice-seasoned cast-iron skillets to make cinnamon buns with cream cheese frosting.
One of the great things about Artisanal Kitchen Supply is how timeless it feels. With classic materials like cast iron, olive wood, porcelain and marble you can use it for years and years, but it also has a cool handmade vibe that feels very up-to-date.
The best part of the morning was catching up with the guests. We talked about movies, work and books. And my friend Kavi, above, had a fan girl moment when meeting Jenny from beloved blog Dinner: A Love Story. :)
Today, we are giving two readers each a $250 Bed Bath & Beyond gift card. To enter, please check out the Artisanal Kitchen Supply collection and leave a comment below telling us which pieces you like most. (The dinner plates and the cheese board are two of our favorites.) Two winners will be picked at random on Friday evening. Update: The winners have been selected and notified. Thank you for playing!
