Hi. I am a regular reader of your blog and have come to your side of the world for the first time…NY from India. I have two kids who are 12 and 9. Would have loved it if you can suggest some apple picking kind of stuff that I can do with them. Or anything else if you can suggest too.

Audrey Claire and Parc in Rittenhouse Square are wonderful!!! They are right next to a beautiful park with lots of cute doggies all around! The Mutter museum is really cool too if you have time. For the kids the Franklin Institute is THE best. I went for all my school field trips in elementary and middle school.

In Philly right now. You’ll love Bud and Marilyn’s. Very well located, easy to explore city on foot before and after.

That letter from the husband thanking his wife’s caretakers in the hospital is so accurate and touching. I lost my dad to brain cancer two years ago and after speaking with one of his nurses several late nights in a row, she had explained that her son was being treated for a brain tumor as well. I couldn’t believe the strength of this nurse. To come to work and deal with the same heartbreak as she experienced at home day in and day out. She cared for my dad so empathetically, while comforting us by cracking jokes and making jovial conversation, despite having so much on her plate. An unsung hero that was one of many involved in my dad’s final moments.

My city! Great recommendations so far. I’ll just add Honest Tom’s in West Philly, which has great burritos and tacos and is right next door to the Lil Pop Shop, a yummy popsicle shop.

reading terminal market is the only place to go for lunch in philly. Hands down the best philly has to offer – roast pork sandwiches at dinic’s, pretzels at miller’s twist, donuts at beiler’s, mac & cheese at Molly malloy’s, apple dumplings at the Dutch eating place – I could go on & on. Love high street but it’s tiny and now there’s one in nyc and the menus are pretty similar. It’s totally a mad house in the market but so much fun & so philly!

I loooove Philly! Vedge is so good (go for happy hour and it’s much more affordable). I also love Sampan, Indeblue, and get donuts at Federal Donuts. I’m hungry just thinking about all the great food I ate last time I was there!

We also loved Please Touch! When we were in Philly, we took the kids to Honey’s Sit ‘N Eat. It’s a great, kid-friendly restaurant with an eclectic menu, part soul food, part Jewish food. :) http://honeyssitneat.com

What a great museum that is!! Your kids will love it! As for lunch, I love Monk’s cafe, its one of the older restaurants in the city but their mussels and fries are to die for. And their beer selection is really extensive. Have fun and can’t wait to see some photos on your instagram and perhaps on your blog!

Parc Restaurant in Rittenhouse Square for lunch! It reminds me of the old Pastis in the Meatpacking and they are very nice to kids. We also like Devil’s Alley in Philly . Philly is great! So much fun and an easy trip from NYC

I heard Dizengoff is so good especially from the people across the street at Federal Donuts (their chicken is awesome). I love 4th street Deli (although it is in Queens Village which isn’t close to the Please Touch Museum). Sabrina’s, Side Car, Pietros, Parc, are some of my faves!!

Not sure if you are driving. My vote is Vietnam Cafe on 47th Street.
My husband heard me repeat this question out loud and suggests “Federal Doughnut”. The best fried chicken and crazy doughnuts for the kids.
