Breakfast in Brooklyn (and a Giveaway)

What do you do for breakfast? Recently, one of our family rituals has been to have breakfast on the stoop. Here are some photos, and a giveaway from Annie’s new organic cereal

Anton has an eagle eye for garbage trucks, and Toby chats with every passerby. (We call him “the mayor.”) Plus, the fresh air makes everyone feel good. When babies were fussy, my grandmother would always said to take them outside and they’d calm right down. That trick has worked for me, and it feels invigorating to feel the breeze on your cheeks first thing in the morning.

Toby and Anton love two-ingredient pancakes, scrambled eggs and smoothies for breakfast. And when I told the boys that Annie’s (of mac n’ cheese fame) had reached out to see if we’d like to try their new organic cereal, they were thrilled.

The new line comes in three yummy flavors, and our favorite is Annie’s Organic Frosted Oat Flakes, along with bananas and strawberries. The cereal is delicious and crunchy, and whole grain oats are the first ingredient on the box to help give the boys energy all morning (there are 23 grams of whole grains in each serving). You can see the other two fun, bunny-shaped varieties here.
