I’m an East-West girl. Now I finally have an understanding as to why I’ve never had cleavage and why I never will. I’m pregnant with #2, and my boobs are bigger than they ever have been- and still, no cleavage. The bigger they get, the farther they pull apart, encroaching on my arms and pits. Sigh. If only they could learn to get along and come together.

I have tear drop boobs… I never really thought too much about the shape of my own or anyone’s chest, but it’s legit!

And I do really love the article about not teaching our girls to be scared. ❤️

Longtime listener, first time caller!

I’ve gotta say, the boobs article bummed me out! It was interesting to see it recognized that women’s bodies come in lots of different shapes and sizes, but some of the bra suggestions were a little shame-y. Why should someone with East-West breast feel like she should be trying to “smooth over the shape and help to draw them in.”? Why should someone with smaller “slender” boobs want padding to “help with size”?

It’s okay to have small boobs!
It’s okay to have different sized boobs!
It’s okay to have wide set boobs!
It’s okay to have nipples and for them to point wherever they damn well please!
And this article recognizes these things, but what it totally misses the point on is that its OKAY for the world to know these things about your breasts. These variations are not something that we need “help” with. What’s the point of recognizing diversity if you’re gonna suggest these differences should be hoisted and padded and pulled into uniformity? My boobs are great, your boobs are great and we don’t have to change em for society!

Totally agree. I have small perky boobs and was a bit annoyed that the “advice ” was to wear a padded bra.. I always thought as kinda fake advertising

I totally didn’t interpret this article as a bummer, because it was written in partnership with a lingerie shop. Lingerie shops are of the same mind; I don’t associate them with progressive views of the female body. But maybe that’s the wrong way to do business! Yes! I had the same reaction. Why can’t the message be “there are 7 types of breasts and all of them are beautiful!” On the plus side, I guess it’s a good thing that their paid articles (oh sorry, “in partnership”) are so transparent.

Of course I agree with what’s said in the article about not teaching girls to be scared–but I’m tired of seeing stuff like this all over the internet because I’M not teaching my girls to be scared, and neither are most people I know. Some, sure, but it doesn’t seem like “we” are. We’re doing ok!

I was super excited to try out the Baby Name app, but after downloading it I was prompted to connect with my parter to utilize the app. I think that kinda stinks; a) because my husband has a “old school” phone and more importantly, b) because what about all the single mama’s to be? I think I’ll try to contact the app designers to let them know it’s a really cool idea, but maybe they should make a more inclusive option!

A few things..

– pizza..so many choices in nyc..but our favorite is motorino because it is super authentic Neapolitan pizza..and we’ve been to Naples.

– the baby name app is hilarious! Both of our kids names were my choices..my husband doesn’t have strong opinions about it, but I used to be a preschool teacher so there’s a lot of name association.

– I like the article on girls. I have a 3 year old daughter and we try to let her do everything without telling her to be scared of things. She’s a brave fearless one and I hope she never loses that.

hands down the best chocolate chip cookie recipe EVER. it’s 100% worth the effort. i like to make the dough, roll it up into balls and freeze it so i can bake off individual cookies when the need strikes (i also add about a 1/4 cup of cacao nibs for crunch). i did that with a huge batch when i was pregnant so when i was home alone with a newborn and nursing, i could have fresh-baked cookies any time of day! i gave a batch of frozen cookie dough balls to a new mom recently. she was very grateful. ( :

I always have these cookie dough balls in the freezer too! And I’ve given them away as gifts but people seemed confused about why it was such a genius idea….oh well, more for me!

NYtimes cookies are my favorite, well worth the time and effort. i’ve made them vegan, dairy free, and gluten free. in any incarnation they are divine. i’ve even added soy sauce (in lieu of salt) to the batter for a little something something.
best: form them with ice cream scoop and freeze them. pop them in oven with an extra min or two bake time for when you need a cookie, or five.

“Totally into these shoes” – of course I had to have a look! And lo and behold it was the Stan Smith sneaker, am also totally in love with mine. But far more interestingly, so it would seem, is half of France. This is the sneaker that sees chic French women replacing their pumps and wearing these, who would ever have imagined that! They are almost something of a cult item from teenagers in schools to ladies who lunch, I see them everywhere, everyday.
