First-time poster, and another long time reader! I’m a single 27 year old jumpstarting my career as a lawyer in DC. I’m single, and waiting for my Mr. Darcy to show up :)

I have to tell you that in my mid-fifties I never thought it would happen to me, but here I am, blissfully in love. I was alone for over 20 years, and statistically speaking this shouldn’t have happened. You become cynical as you grow older, and when I met my husband I kept waiting for the “other shoe to drop,” as they say. It never did. He moved me from the USA to his home town of Durham, England, and life has been one adventure after another, ever since. I am in heaven, and thank you for asking. He’ll be home at noon time to start our anniversary celebration, but, as usual, he won’t tell me where we’re going.

I just chanced on that picture and what a surprise! My fiancé gave me the EXACT same ring at our 1st christmas together. I have always loved “aigue-marines” and things that have a story to tell. When he saw that 1920s ring in an antique shop, he knew he would win points :) I havn’t taken it off in the last 5 years. Enjoy yours.

My engagement ring is just so beautiful – I couldn’t believe it. The stone in the middle is 1.25ct brilliant cut diamond with pink diamonds on both sides.
