My mum and I make wreaths out of cranberries every holiday season. We shape them into hearts, which looks super cute!
i have a heart-shaped branch wreath on my door now
I always put up a wreath in December, but it’s not as chic at these!
i used to work at a Lincoln Park boutique called Celeste Turner. We had these square bay wreaths for Christmas, and I just loved them; clean, festive and elegant. Your post reminded me of that. May have to creat one of my own.
I love wreaths. I have wanted to make or buy a magnolia wreath for quite sometime, but they are expensive to buy and I was not entirely sure I am crafty enough to make one. As luck would have it, Southern Living wrote a how-to piece on DYI magnolia wreaths this month and it really does not sound nearly as daunting as I had expected. So, this is the year! I am going to spray paint the leaves with a high gloss red before I assemble it. I’ll post some pics once this project gets underway.
Love the spruce in a bottle by the way–great idea!
I usually make a wreath — haven’t done it yet this year. Still brainstorming!
wreaths are so important. just seeing one on the door makes you feel good.
I made one this year, from scrap linen fabric. It’s a snap to make, and a different take on the classic. Here’s a link to a little tutorial…

oh I love the square wreath! wow – so simple but a different take on a classic!!
i will now that you’ve shown me some awesome ones <3
I did get a wreath this year, but not the gorgeous fresh one I saw in the shop the other day. It was the equivalent of $100 USD and whilst it was divine, I couldn’t bring myself to spend that much on the neighbours – who will afterall, be the only ones admiring it whilst I sit inside.
We live in HK, in an apartment block with only 4 other apartments on each floor.
I decided instead to buy a cheaper, fake one, which I do hope the neighbours are enjoying:)
Do you think I would be too cheeky to buy one and keep it on the inside? They smell sooo good and look soo pretty!
Yes, we always have one. I just love it. The square wreath above is cute and unique but I am more of a traditional-loving wreath person. :)
pretty square wreath!
Yes! I have mine already :)
I bought one on sale after Christmas last year and just took it out of storage. Exicted!
My dream is to one day afford the wreaths with bay leaves. So elegant yet striking.
Ooh, we’ve never had a fresh one before. I love that round boxwood one!
nick, you’re so right! hilarious.
I think I am going to get a wreath this year. My apartment is too small for a full on tree, so I feel I need to do something. BUT I think I might spray paint my wreath pink. lol. just to be different
mm, so pretty. i think hanging one in my messy student apartment might be a stretch, but maybe i should go for it.
We got a peace sign wreath this year from gardeners.com. It goes well with our tree covered in peace sign ornaments!
these are great wreaths…..although this year I am feeling inspired from one of my fave blogs and I am thinking of making a homemade wreath out of vintage book pages and some colorful christmas ornaments.
A SQUARE wreath? Cool.
I just made a wreath tonight, out of stuff from the recycling bin. I think I’m in love with it!
Yes, yes, yes! Christmas would not be Christmas without a pretty wreath! I’m guilty of hanging them on the doors inside as well as outside! :)
I love wreaths! My boyfriend’s mom has been making one for us the last couple years…
yes! it’s already hanging on our door :)
Yes, locally made as a fundraiser for my daughter’s school’s PTA…
Growing up my parents always had a good-natured disagreement over the color of ribbon to put on it: red, according to my dad, and purple, according to my mom. I’m going to go sans ribbon.
Yes! Last year I got one for my apartment but it dried out due to my radiator and scattered needles everywhere, so now I just enjoy picking out a wreath with my mom for my house in the states :)
I don’t know why but I’m just not a fan of the square wreaths, they all look very nice though.
*first time commenter but been reading for a while*
God that looks like a MENSA practice test question.
A leafy green square completes the sequence!

Of course! I get mine from Trader Joe’s. They have little mini ones with nuts on them. So cute.
I’m going to make one again this year. which reminds me, I better get cracking!
Not this year, but next year, after we move to the countryside, YES. I love them! :-)
yes! i bought a boxwood wreath last year and couldn’t bear to throw it away, so i kept it. and look how pretty it is now!

i should have used it as a fall decoration. maybe next year?
On the front door with a tartan ribbon. And inside in every window.
Our church has a wreath making party and it’s this Thursday. I can’t wait. We have a Christmas program, make wreaths and enjoy delicious food! It’s a wonderful way to start the holiday season!
wow!! what are they for??
we hang a raffia-and-ribbon wreath we bought in mexico on our door every year.
also, i saw this and thought of you!

still loving your blog every day!
Oh, don’t remind me. My mother insists on getting one every year. :)
We don’t … but those square ones are just quirky enough that you’ve got me reconsidering!
aw, haydee, thank you! and so cool that you have a wreath *inside*. now i want to get one for our apartment!
Joanna you are the best! I truly enjoy your blog every single day:)
And yes, I do get a wreath! I have our red berry wreath on our front door and a fresh green one w/holly and a red bow inside:)
Just bought a huge one, and can’t wait to hang it. The pine smell is absolutely divine!
