I love this – it’s so much more interesting than matching chairs!
I have spent about 3 years collecting a bunch of old chairs for our beach cottage – my favorite is a blue painted one w/ just a little yellow paint peeking thru – eight dollars at good will!!
I think this is the best idea ever! My family spent Thanksgiving several years back with a family friend who took this approach (and since then I’ve aspired to do the same…now just to have a place big enough for tables and chairs!). Hers were a bit more antique-y, old library chairs and various flea market finds.
Can’t wait to see how your place shapes up :)

this is seriously hands down my favourite dining room photo ever.
it must take a long time or a lot of resources to come up w that many varied chairs in such nice condition! and look the lovely collection of frames echoed on the wall!
it would be hard not to be cheerful sitting at that table. And the floor is so faboo! Is it concrete? Vinyl? What is it!!???
