Woah! The Great Fall story is crazy! Lady Wintour was at my office (Conde Nast West) last week and everyone was besides themselves freaking out because we never have important people around! (Especially with strict protocols like that!)
oh i love her hair
um, joey ramone?
Oh my God. I accidentally copied Anna Wintour’s hair with my new ‘do. Oops.
Hi JO,
Thanks so much for linking! Love your blog… just added you to my blog roll….
On Anna, she is a wolf in sheep’s clothing in that photo it seems.
BEsT :)

This is the exact same haircut that Kate Moss was sporting in Fall/Winter 2007!
I knew it was Anna! Why does she always hide her forehead?
She looks very pretty in this picture. She’s kind of like an asp, pretty on the outside, but has a fatal bite…
How bizarre. She looks like Michelle Williams with longer, darker hair…
i stared for a while at the picture, trying to figure it out. i guessed by the bangs, but then i read the clues & KNEW it.
she`s kind of scary even then. her bangs, just blocking her eyes – kind of the evil look.

ps. we linked you in our blog, hope it`s okay with you :)
hey, i guessed it.
do i win a prize?
i could not have done it without the scary clue though.
the falling story:
…i kinda thought she was that scary. (i would’ve stopped to help her up, just to piss her off! but, that’s me…)
that story about her falling over.i totally agree with the wintour. i fell over in the street not so long ago (and although obviously i’m not held in high regard by anyone)and apart from the ridiculous embarrassment, the thing that made it worse was that passers by stopped to help therefore confirming my faux pas.
the embarrassment went from ridiculous to excruciating!.
cool shot! she looks quite different…i dont think she looks scary but Im sure if i was to meet her Id be trembling in most probably in her eyes the wrong shoes….
Still no smile even in the early days though, hoho.
my friend worked at vogue for a while and said she walked by anna wintour and you weren’t supposed to say hello or acknowledge her because she didn’t like talking to random employees. and so one day, anna tripped and fell when my friend was walking by, but my friend made the quick decision to not stop to help but just keep walking by, and afterwards everyone told her that she was really really really smart to do that because anna would have flipped out if she had acknowledged her fall.
scary!
Interesting timing! I rode on the elevator with her yesterday (I work for another Conde Nast book) … the elevator is always *silent* when she’s on with us lowly employees. I can say, from experience, that she is WAY scarier than she looks … and even more so in person!! And P.S. – She makes no secret about blatantly sizing up your outfit. Ick.
she looks absolutely lovely. i could never do bangs like that, but it looks so sweet on her.
i feel like she’s too thin now. for some reason, i think that the older you get, the more weight you should gain (in moderation, of course!). otherwise, you could end up looking gaunt and mean…
Obviously the hair cut works for her but I can’t help but wonder what she is hiding beneath those bangs. Horns perhaps? A tattoo of 666? Andre Leon Talley?
I love her haircut. It’s nice to see a picture like this of her.
wow, it’s cool to see her as her younger self. still very stylish & serious. i agree w/ ms. spinach, she did seem somewhat normal (for her) and approachable in the mj/lv documentary.
Anna was totally my guess! Wow. She looks a bit Anne Hathaway-ish here— so lovely! :) And I’m loving her black and brown mix! :)
isn’t that great?
i’m totally pro-anna these days. did you see her appearance in the marc jacobs louis vuitton doc? she totally seemed normal and (dare i say it?) approachable. (not that *i* would ever approach her, but you know what i mean.) in any case, i was surprised/impressed.
love her bangs!
yes, as my mom always says: Never be intimidated by anyone. We all have the same bodily functions.
totally the wintour!
Wow so strange to see her young, I guess she was always into the statement haircut huh.
(Not in my picture though. That’s old.) —–>
I have the same haircut.
wow! she’s so cute! i love that necklace.
joslyn, that is so funny!
i picture people either:
* getting dressed in the morning and trying to figure out what the wear (since that seems self-conscious and vulnerable)
* going to the bathroom.
the second one ALWAYS works.
She looks sooo cute and even a bit sweet.
i love it…funny because i was just dealing with someone at work who is a little scary, and my tactic for getting through it was to picture this him as a younger, more vulnerable person. it totally worked.
anna was so cute!
Anna Wintour.
She obv. has loved bangs all her life.. no?
vogue editor anna wintour! doesn’t she looks cute (and benign) as a younger girl? and funny how she had those bangs back then, too….
