Update: Because of the COVID-19 health concerns, we have decided to cancel the Spring Market. We’re disappointed not to be able to bring everyone together, but we want to be sure to keep our community safe. Everyone who bought a ticket will be fully refunded, of course. We will definitely keep you posted on any future markets. Thank you so much!
We are thrilled to announce that we’ll be hosting some Cup of Jo events this year! First up is Cup of Jo’s Spring Market, where we’ll be featuring wonderful makers of everything from children’s toys and women’s clothes to home goods and beautiful stationery.
The Spring Market will be held on Saturday, April 4th, from 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., and you can come shop and hang out at the Greenpoint Loft in Brooklyn. I’m really excited to bring the Cup of Jo community together in real life! It will be a beautiful day.
Here are the makers who will be there:
Please find tickets here. (Tickets are $10 and can be redeemed with any vendor.) We hope you can join us! I’d love to meet you. xoxo
P.S. Coming up: We’ll also be hosting some “in conversation” events around the country. Please stay tuned!

I’m literally going to be in Brooklyn 11 days after this! So bummed! Looks like a great line up, have fun everyone!
Sadly a very long way to travel to one of my favourite places in the world for what looks to be a fun day. Hope it is wonderful and you create a post about it filled with lots of photos so I can imagine myself being there!
Ohhh this looks wonderful! Do you need any extra hands/volunteers to help out??? : )
This is such a lovely idea! And what a great group of vendors. I would love to attend (great excuse for a trip to NYC!) but I’m vending in a market myself in Philly that day. I hope you put on another one soon! The poster/logo is really excellent, btw, so brava to whoever designed that!
Please have this in DC! Pretty please with a cherry on top?
DC, please!!!
I agree! A DC market would be awesome!
I happen to have a trip planned for NYC exactly ONE WEEK after this event :(
so… Vancouver, Canada pleeeeeeeeease!!!
Will you have a summer market?
No but we will do summer “in conversation” events!
I have a Hawkins NY washcloth that I bought in LA and am obsessed with. Wish I could come and buy a second and ooh and ahh over Ace and Jig and babaa goodies. Have a blast!
One ticket would also get a baby in, right? (Would have to be VIP if she comes along—even though I live in greenpoint picking an exact hour to get out of the house is still difficult :))
yes for sure! babies very welcome :)
Congrats, Cup of Jo. I wish I could make it. Oh well.
Love this! As a loyal reader for 10 years, I’ve been eagerly anticipating events with you, Joanna. Brava! Cheers to this exciting new chapter for your blog and community.
Ugh, I’m tempted to take the train up for the weekend! Please come to Baltimore or DC next.
I agree, I’d jump on the train in Baltimore for the market!
Can’t wait to see you in SF/Bay Area! I also wanted to make you a suggestion for future events, if you don’t mind: is it possible to make a post before the event asking for suggestions of local vendors? I know your sponsors will be there (which makes total sense) but the comment section here is so amazing I am sure a lot of your readers would have awesome suggestions of artists, makers and vendors! Plus, some of your readers might be a potential vendor themselves :)
Genius!
I’d like to take a moment to applaud the incredible visuals for the market! Beautiful work, Erin!!
also — should add — I’m wondering how I’ll make it out of this with my savings intact haha so many cool brands!
Thinking on doing it in Madrid (Spain)??
Wow, how fun!! Would love to have you in Cleveland next :))
*Gazes wistfully across the Atlantic*
Come to Mexico City!
Sending Love and warm wishes from Australia!
Wish I could be there.
It is so exciting to watch how Cup of Jo has and continues to grow over the years.
Congratulations of this next exciting move!
just bought 2 tickets for me and my 13 year old daughter :)
we will be early birds on saturday.
ps: LOVE the logo!!!
How fun, I can’t wait to meet you!
We cannot wait!!!
What a delightful idea! I wish I weren’t half a country away in Austin. Have fun, Everyone!
Would love an “In Conversation” event in the Bay Area! I vote for the East Bay (Oakland, Berkeley) but I’d drive anywhere for a CoJ event :)
Yes! We are coming!
Wish I lived closer to attend. Love the super reasonable ticket price btw.
I hope the conversation events bring you to Florida – St. Pete is cute and fun. :)
Aw, I wish I lived in New York! Sydney’s not too far, right? :P
Love the Spring Market logo!
Yes! Does the tote bag have the logo on it?
LOVE the logo for the event!
New Orleans!
How cool! Oh I’d love for y’all to do pop up markets elsewhere in the country, in the future! There’s a shop at one of our local malls in the Twin Cities that specializes in handmade goods, and today they had an open maker call so I took some of my jewelry … and they wanted $1500 as an “annual fee” PLUS 35% of each sale – just for a table! I mean, I can rent my own retail space without having to share for that amount. Crazy. I was so disappointed though because my product (mid range one of a kind jewelry) doesn’t do well at local fairs where over half the vendors are MLM scams :/
So fun! I would love to see something like this in Toronto!
I hope you all have a great market. I used to live near Terrain in Philly, and while I love their products and aesthetic, I wouldn’t consider them a maker (also part of the free people/ anthro suite of businesses.) I hope you will consider independent artists and makers in the future. In fact, in addition to your beauty and uniform columns it would be so cool to read about the makers in our world.
Yes terrain is one of our sponsors, along with grove and brooklinen. We are so grateful for them! The rest are independent makers and small designers. Thank you so much!
So exciting! Congrats!
Moving to DC and would love y’all to come through for one of the conversations. It’s exciting | scary to leave your circle mid-30s and start over friendship wise! Any organizations, groups I should join?
Hi KS, I just wanted to say you’ll be fine! I have relocated countries twice in my 30s, and if I have one piece of advice, it’s to just say yes to anything and everything that comes your way. You never know where your next friend is going to pop up. It might be a mum in the park who asks if you want a play date, it might be a lady in the supermarket who tells you about a book store event, it might be a person at your new job who offers to show you the favourite local coffee place. Just say yes! Not every attempt is going to be amazing, but at least you’re out there hanging out with people and seeing the city. I think there’s a tendency to hunker down and stay in when you’re new and lonely – and this is a valid feeling and absolutely you should stay in when you need to – but at the same time, the friendships are there, you’ve just got to put yourself out there a little. Good luck!
Hi KS, I teach a “Zen Circle” meditation group at the Washington National Cathedral, which you’d be welcome to join :-) Details on my website here: enteringthestream.co/community. Welcome to DC (now or soon)!
Sounds wonderful! Any opportunity now or for future events to participate and purchase online?
Yes! We put all the brands in this post so people who can’t attend the event can still discover them and shop their sites, if they’d like! Xoxo
Thank you for posting the links! So many cute things! Just ordered some stationary from Mr Boddingham! Good luck with the event!
I’m in Scotland so no go for me sadly, but, well done team coj- this must have taken a lot of work to plan and put together. I hope you, and all that can make it out of this beautiful bunch of readers you’ve gathered, have a spectacular time xx
Come to Chicago please!!!! :)
We will!!! Xoxo
LA next please!!
I so wish I could attend this market and meet you Joanna! I think this is a great idea and very natural extension of this wonderful community. Would you ever consider CoJ events in Canada? It’s wonderful here. Bring your family to the Rocky Mountains!
Chicago is lovely… In the Spring or Summer :)
Another vote for Chicago! We’d love to have you here. Don’t forget fall, too!
Sounds like fun! I wished I lived in New York.
Would love to see the Cup of Jo gals in Boston! It’s an easy train ride from NYC.
^YES agreed!
Yes please! :)
Agreed! Would love to meet some fellow CoJ readers here!
Another vote for Boston/Cambridge!
Cosigned!
Come to Austin pretty please!
I second this!!!
Yes! Come see us in ATX!!
What a great idea, definitely want to attend and get a tote!
And love the idea of timed entry, I am SO over excessive crowds! Honestly paying technically just $2.36 (the ticket fee) for the luxury of crazy crowd-free shopping is a DEAL.
YAY!!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE come to FL!!
Lovely! We would be thrilled to see you in Denver…
Another vote for Denver, please!
A third for Denver!
Another vote for Denver! :-)
Yes! Denver please :)
One more vote for Denver!
Yes, DENVER! And all these Den requests make me think we need a meet-up here :)
Ohh, “In Conversation Events” sound LOVELY. I would love to gather with other lovely CoJ connected women in person. Feeling the desire for a lot more in person gathering in my life. Hope the Brooklyn event is so much fun and how sweet to support local makers.
I know you’ll get asked for *every* city ;), but here’s my vote for my city, Portland, Oregon. If other Portlanders chime in here, maybe we can help support you all in finding a space, getting the word out, etc!
Yes to Portland! We are such a cool place to visit too!
Yay to Portland! I would absolutely come down from Olympia for an event :)
Please come to Portland!
+1 to a Portland event!!
Yes Portland! Ava Genes, Powells, Betsy & Iya, Good Coffee, Broder– so many good places and people here!
Oh Jena, you’re from Olympia, I love it -and fun, I think responded to your comment below about becoming CoJ helping making us more empathic well rounded humans. Love that we’re both on this chain too I kicked off.
And ?? other Portland peeps! Hopefully there’s a PNW CoJ event and we all get to meet! ? (Janna, Broder, yummmm!)
Yes – Portland please!!
Another vote for Portland here. :D. I’m not sure how I’d get there, since I live in Salem and can’t drive. But I would exhaust every option to attend.
OH have fun! Wish I could be there but I live across the country. Speaking of shopping, following a CoJ post, for Christmas my husband bought me a completely excellent ghost sweatshirt from artist Lorien Stern’s website, AND a tshirt! I love both of them, and make friends whenever I wear them.
So glad!!
I just got my tickets! So excited what a great idea! P.S. Will there be food/drinks? haha
yay, i’m excited!
And yes to food and drinks!
Oh my goodness! This made my entire month. Although I live in Washington state, my husband and I happened to have a trip to NYC planned this *exact weekend*. How fun to shop among all the brands that support CoJ. Joanna, I’ve always wanted the opportunity to thank you in person for all the fabulous work and CoJ community you’ve built and now I might get the chance!
The perspectives, ideas, and essays shared on CoJ have truly had such an impact on my life. I feel a bit as though CoJ has grown with me through high school, college, being a newlywed, and now considering beginning a family of our own. Your posts – at the time or via the archives – have truly made me into a more cultured, well rounded, and empathetic human being, as cheesy as that sounds.
Looking forward to our NYC trip even more now!
oh my gosh, that means so much to me! thank you so much.
Jena, this so captures my experience too: I too feel the space supporting being a “more cultured, well rounded, and empathetic human being”. So well said. I would also add loving the feeling that pop culture, laughter and pleasure can integrate with deep reflection, vulnerability and openness to others as well as global activism and care. Like the best friendships! Thank you deeply to you Joanna and all the lovely women holding this space.
this is so exciting!
Yay! Come to Baltimore!
Second!!!
Baltimore folks, would you be interested in our own meetup? Not quite sure how we could organize it but maybe Artifact Coffee at a certain date and time? My resolution this year is to be braver about invitations!
Oh my gosh! Can COATT Morse coded come?
Never have I wished I lived in NYC more than I do at this moment!
The brands sound lovely and I love all things Cup of Jo, but why do you need to sell tickets to… go shopping? These brands have online shops anyway, and charging for admission to shop feels pretty strange to me.
oh, they’re just timed tickets, so it doesn’t get too crowded. they’re $10 each, but you get a $10 voucher toward shopping, so they’re actually free!
I understand how tickets can seem unnecessary, but it’s also becoming pretty common for larger-forum markets or fleas to do this. The Rose Bowl Flea Market in Pasadena charges an entry fee and it’s honestly worth it (if you like flea markets and are ever near that area it’s a pretty fun one!) Even if you buy nothing, it’s an event to attend and events require tickets. So cool the CoJ team is including a voucher to use at any vendor!!
That makes a lot more sense. Thanks for the explanation, and it sounds like fun!
I live in LA and would LOVE something like this here, just saying :)
Me too! LA, please!
I second LA!
YES! Please come to LA! :)
