the grocery store sprints! I used to LOVE wandering around the market looking at, well EVERYTHING :-). Now, if I am in the store for more than 30 minutes and even come close to another person, I feel terrible anxiety. I can’t get out of any store fast enough. I organize my list based on the store I am going to so I can get through the aisles faster. I sometimes miss my meandering through every single aisle grocery shopping.

The virtual yoga illustration made me laugh out loud. I’ve been doing virtual yoga and Nia Dance through Zoom since the beginning of quarantine, and I can completely relate to being in an awkward position while trying to follow the teacher on the screen. Very Zen haha.

I’m definitely the camp counselor! My husband and I work full time and have no childcare, so I have childcare duty in the morning. I kill time by walking to our favorite bakery, getting coffee and a small treat, and walking back. 3 miles. Pretty much daily. It takes 90 minutes on a good day (longer when she decides to play in the sprinklers…).

I love this time together – our neighborhood is super cute and we have favorite spots to see. But I can’t turn off my anxiety enough to fully enjoy it, and I monitor work emails the whole time.

I could have written this comment! I take the kids in the morning and my husband in the afternoon. The walks (and this time) are so bittersweet. Such precious time with our young children, and also I spend most of the walk reading work emails while pushing a double stroller with one hand and sweating profusely. :) We keep commenting that we will look back on this time and miss these walks so much, but I would also give anything to have regular childcare back. Sending you hugs.

We have been eating daily cupcakes from our neighborhood bakery for this very reason!! Probably not great for the sugar consumption, but hey. It’s getting us through.

I feel you on the work anxiety. Yesterday I left my phone at home and it felt scary at first but then liberating. And turns out, no one died while I was off slack for an hour!
