The Softest, Softest Linen Bedding

Best Indigo Linen Bedding by Brooklinen

For most of my life, I wasn’t a bed person. I just got in, slept and got out. But everything changed when I discovered Brooklinen bedding. Now I’ve become one of those bed enthusiasts who dreams about climbing under the covers with a book all day. Today, we’re thrilled to share their new Indigo linen bedding

Brooklinen sheets are truly the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on.

Here’s their new Indigo linen duvet cover and pillowcases, and the most surprising thing, to me, was how soft the linen is right off the bat. Often linen can be stiff and even scratchy until it’s washed a few times, but when we pulled the Brooklinen duvet cover out of the box, it was as soft as a beloved old T-shirt.

Every time we have overnight guests, they go nuts for the sheets and end up asking where we got them. I’m always happy to share that it’s a husband-and-wife company based here in Brooklyn.

Brooklinen also just launched loungewear, and it’s as lightweight as their sheets — meaning a million times softer than anything else out there. Here, I’m wearing the relaxed tee and French terry joggers — with a fitted cuff and pockets!

What’s your secret to a great bed? Brooklinen is a brand that we’re really proud to be partnered with, and I highly recommend them. xoxo

Sorry to ask an unrelated question, but I love the floral art piece above the bed! Mind sharing where it’s from?

  2. Kristi says...

I would love to purchase their loungewear but AGAIN, another brand that does not think inclusive sizing is important. Plus size people like to lounge too!

  3. We switched from cotton to linen sheets as they’re more friendly to allergies people like us. We have a set of their Core Sheet Set, and we love the light and soft feeling every time we lie on our bed (say good-bye to those annoying allergies too). Their price point is higher when compared to other brands, but the quality and unique feel of the sheets are totally worth it.

Sorry I disagree. I ordered the Brooklinen bedding upon your recommendation – linen sheets and pillowcases are good. I ordered the Linen Hardcore sheet bundle. I also ordered the Down alternative comforter and it is terrible. It sheds all over my floor. At first I thought it was because it was new, but it’s been over six months and I constantly have to vacuum the white dustballs. I tried to contact the company for help via their website but never received a response. I don’t intend to order from this company again.

I know this post is a sponsored post for Brooklinen and I’ve heard great things about them; but when it was time to splurge (more self-care, doing things that give me true joy and enjoyment….) I went with Cultiver linen sheets. Now I don’t think I can go back to my cotton sheets (which I’ve done so much research on and tried so many brands and ended up with Target Threshold sheets!) I LOVE linen sheets – now I’ve grown my collection to duvet covers, linen blanket, etc. and yes they were expensive but hey you spend 1/3 of your life in bed so it’s worth it!! My husband, however, calls them “hemp bags”.

  6. Kelly says...

I have the Brooklinen cotton sheets and matching duvet, and the BEST thing about them is how well the fitted sheet stays. I’m a vigorous sleeper, and finally I’m not pulling the whole bottom off and wrapping myself in it. My husband’s happier too, since our bed looks a lot nicer!

  7. Kate says...

Does anyone have a recommendation for a light & cooling duvet insert? I bought linen sheets last year, and I love them, but my duvet insert + me and my partner’s body heat = sweatfest every night. Thank you in advance for your advice!

    • Emma says...

We just use the duvet cover by itself!

    • Kelly says...

I like the down alternative one from West Elm, or the Eucalyptus one from Buffy! We’re in Texas. Sometimes in summer I just use the cover, though!

    • Jess says...

I am a furnace when I sleep and my boyfriend and I just got the Buffy Breeze – it’s their lighter comforter, and it’s a game changer! I was nervous because it looked really thin, so esthetically it doesn’t have that cozy, fluffy look, but it’s oddly heavy and breathes incredibly well. Highly recommend!

  8. Maddy says...

When my long term boyfriend and I broke up, I bought myself a beautiful pink duvet and pillows from a brand based in Vancouver, Canada. They are called ‘Bed’ and everything is 100% cotton and STURDY. 10/10 would recommend.

  9. Lili says...

We ordered sheets from Brooklinen about 2 years ago and found them overpriced for what you got – which was a good quality sheet but certainly not as soft and earth-shattering as they advertise. But their customer service was excellent! The first set came with a slight tear in the fitted sheet and they immediately sent us an entire new set for free. Always nice when companies treat you right! PS We finally found our Holy Grail of perfectly soft and luxurious sheets – the 100% Lyocell 300-thread count sateen sheets over at The Company Store. HEAVEN.

  10. Anna says...

I realised a while ago as a new mum on UK maternity leave with my second girl that I spend so much time at home, my life is so domestic, it makes MUCH more sense to splurge on the domestic than on one-time purchases like, for instance, a cocktail dress I will never wear again. Consequently I stocked up on high end eco cleaning products, organic cotton pjs, and, yes, linen bedding. These things have made such a difference to my life! It sounds daft and it’s only for the few years that I’m home a lot with my girls – but little things like getting into my pyjamas after an evening shower, changing the sheets or even wiping the kitchen counter give me actual pleasure now – as opposed to the squirt of stinky bleach or pulling on of tired holey old pjs in the past. I guess it’s my version of self care – either way I highly recommend it.

    • Neela says...

I like that concept Anna, it makes a lot of sense! And it sounds like it makes you mindful of and grateful for the present moment.

  11. Amy says...

For an affordable and awesome linen duvet, we have Ikea and H&M versions–both excellent quality!

    • tina crisas says...

      Yes! Love the h&m!

  12. Sara says...

I have spent a LOT of money on expensive linen sheets but the best by far for both softness and durability are the linen cotton blend by Threshold for Target! They are the perfect weight, cotton gives instant softness, and they are deep enough for my ridiculously thick mattress + topper. Also, the fitted sheet has little top/bottom tags on the edge so I know how to put them on my bed ;)

    • Michelle says...

I love my Threshold-Target sheets! They are the perfect amount of thickness and softness. The deep fitted sheet is great for thick mattresses.

    • Lana says...

I second this! Threshold sheets are amazing.

  13. Olivia says...

The wrinkles would drive me crazy!! Am I the only one who irons sheets?

  14. Gretchen says...

I found the sheets didn’t fit well either. Didn’t call Customer Service but wouldn’t order again unless with a different mattress (perhaps).

  15. Emma says...

My husband has pretty oily skin. We have a hard time washing the oily stains out of regular cotton sheets, I wonder how linen sheets would work?

  16. I took your advice a few months earlier and ordered Brooklinen sheets and it has been THE best investment I’ve ever made in our home. I craved those soft, crisp percale sheets from my childhood and could never find anything that measured up until Brooklinen! I ordered a set for each bed in our home. I’ll definitely check into this as well.

  17. Victoria says...

Apparently I’m the only person who hates these sheets. Bought them after your last recommendation, and was massively disappointed. I have a double or full Tempur-Pedic mattress and the fitted sheet would NOT stay affixed to the bed. I found the flat sheet and pillow cases to be skimpy.

Customer Service wasn’t helpful. Their rep said I should shop for clip-on doodads for the sheet corners to tighten them up, and they were resistant to a return. Sheets went to Goodwill the next day.

I thought I’d written the purchase off, but judging from my response to your above post, I guess I haven’t.

    • Stephanie S. says...

I had the same experience– I did not find the quality to be good and customer service was NOT helpful.

  18. Eliza says...

I’m always waiting for long-term reviews of linen sheets! We had some VERY expensive linen sheets and they wore out within a year where our feet are. The company (NOT Brooklinen) sent me a small patch to try to patch them myself but it was too threadbare for the small patch to do anything. Before they wore out though, I was a linen evangelist. (I also really LOVE my silk-filled duvet)

    • Joanna Goddard says...

We have had our Brooklinen linen sheets in other colors (the indigo is new) for two years or so and they are wonderful!!!

    • Laura says...

I’ve had the same problem with linen bedding – we had some beautiful linen pillowcases and a duvet cover that were threadbare within maybe 2 years. It killed me to toss them because they were sooo soft and lovely! Maybe these are a heavier weight??

  19. Brittany Thurman says...

That pink wall color! I know it’s an annoying question but do you know the name?!

    • Joanna Goddard says...

Yes! Calamine by farrow and ball. It’s quite a lot paler in real life until you turn the evening lights on and then it’s this rich pinky peach that feels like a womb:)

  20. Natasha says...

I bought the Brooklinen petal pink sheets two weeks ago and have never slept better! Worth every penny. They are truly life changing. I also love my Lesa hybrid pillow.

  21. Claire says...

These look awesome. I do love a dark blue.
also- your pink walls are pretty.

  22. celeste says...

You look adorable! My secret is washing the sheets more than my husband would think to, lol.

  23. Lindsay says...

My favorite sheets ever were my grandmas that were so well worn, they were the softest. But I have found a kind at pottery barn that are just as soft! I’m looking forward to trying linen. But I hate duvet covers, I dread washing and having to put it back on! I’m more of a layer person….sheet, soft blanket, quilt.

    • Christina C Tuohey says...

can you share a link to you pottery barn sheets?

  24. Jenny says...

I wanted to love my Brooklinen sheets, but they are so incredibly wrinkly and not as soft as I expected. They’re now in the closet and I’ve moved on to something else. Is there a special way to wash them?

    • Joanna Goddard says...

The indigo are the softest I’ve felt from them. For washing, we just toss in the machine. Curious to hear from others?

    • Jenny koenig says...

Thanks for the response Joanna! And great to hear about the Indigo! I’m in need of a new duvet cover and it does look nice. Also, I LOVE how the Brooklinen duvets have ties inside the corners to keep everything in place. I might have to give them another try :)

  25. EM says...

I love Brooklinen, but I also love your lamps on the bedside tables! Could you please share where they are from? Thank you!

    • Joanna Goddard says...

      Thank you! Target!

  26. Kim says...

We have the white linen sheets and duvet cover from Brooklinen, and getting in our bed = climbing into the world’s softest, breeziest cloud. I will never go back. The “back up sheets” are collecting dust in the linen closet and may never see the light of day again :)

    • Joanna Goddard says...

      yes!!! agreed x 100.

  27. Mouse says...

Our secret: ancient hard mattress and new 3″ latex topper = bliss. Garnet Hill “crunchy” old-fashioned cotton sheets, Parachute linen coverlet and pillow covers. We–and the cat–can’t get out of bed anymore.

  28. Sarah says...

I absolutely LOVE our Brooklinen bedding. We got white linen, which makes our bed feel like a rumpled, relaxed hotel bed. Only thing about white is that you have to make sure your duvet and pillows are clean and white, not old hand-me-downs :) (Side note, how frequently do people actually replace their duvet and pillows?! I feel like this is part 2 of the “washing your bra” question.)

And as a complete aside, can I say that I’m the teeniest bit disappointed to see this week’s sponsored post is Brooklinen? (Not because it’s them- I love them!) But you had said you do one sponsored post a week, and I was reeeeaaaalllly hoping that it would be a Nordstrom Anniversary Sale roundup this week! You guys are my go-to for things like that, and it feels silly that I was hoping for a certain kind of sponsored post. I just think you always nail it!

    • Maureen says...

Hi Sarah! We are so excited for the Nordstrom pre-sale to start tomorrow and are planning a round-up post for next week! Stay tuned :)

  29. MK says...

After ten years of sleeping on the same queen sized mattress on a rickety metal bed frame- we finally took the plunge and got a king sized bed! It hasn’t even been delivered yet but we’re so excited. We ended up springing for some Brooklinen sheets- they are still in the box and I’m stoked to try them out.
Question- anyone have a duvet they are particularly attached to? That’s one piece we haven’t gotten yet!

    • Joanna Goddard says...

you’re going to love having a king bed! it’s such a game changer. the only problem is that you can never go back :)

as for duvets, we have the brooklinen duvet and really love it! (fyi they call them “comforters.”) buffy also makes great ones.

  30. Cynthia says...

So far, my favorite sheets are the Threshold 100% cotton from Target. They’re crisp and cool, and they make me look forward to bedtime. I’m able to hang my sheets outside on a clothesline, and they smell so fresh. No fabric softener sheet can create that scent. While Brooklinen products look very nice on their website, they’re a bit beyond my budget. I really liked the joggers until I saw the price. Being retired, I do have to watch my spending.

    • Hannah says...

Yep, I’m a big fan of Target’s vintage wash percale myself. I’d pay way more for them if I had to!

  31. AM says...

As I type this I am snuggled up in our ne Brooklinen bedding which I bought last week:)

  32. Kristin says...

We have two sets of their luxe sateen sheets and while I am really happy with the quality of the fabric I have to say I am MAJORLY bummed by the very poor quality stitching along the edges.

We’ve had our sets for about two months and SO many of the stitches have come unraveled with threads poking out here and there. Honestly I do not know that I would buy from them again. :(

    • jackie says...

i recommend reaching out to brooklinen! I got a small hole in sheets I had from them and they sent me a new pair- no questions asked! they have a lifetime warranty. Their Customer Service is incredible!

    • Laura says...

wow, two months! I’ve never bought from them, but given the short time frame, I would let their customer service know. Hopefully you just got a bad set, and if they truly stand behind their product, they will replace for you. Two years is one thing, two months is another entirely!

    • Maggie says...

Oh I so wanted to love my Brooklinen bedding – we splurged on two sets of the luxe sateen sheets, a duvet cover and the lightweight quilt set last year. They looked and felt amazing at first but we’ve been totally underwhelmed at how the products last longterm. The quilt set stitching comes apart (maybe they have a stitching issue?) and though customer service replaced them the first time, it has happened even worse with the second set. The sheets require a cool wash which is a no go for people like us with allergies – hot washing sheets is a necessity for making sure any dust mites are gone. As a result the sheets are faded and have always been very wrinkly. No one sees our bedding, so on one hand who cares, but given the price and all the recs on this site, it is disappointing. I wouldn’t buy the brand again.

  33. Hannah R says...

When we bought our first apartment here in Brooklyn I splurged and bought a Brooklinen duvet, cover, and sheets. Worth EVERY penny. Now I have my eyes on these joggers…

  34. Ann-Marie says...

This makes me want to try them! Last year we spent about 3K on our “new” bed — sizing up to a king with a Naturepedic mattress and cover, organic cotton fitted sheet, Leesa pillows, a Buffy comforter and West Elm’s tencel duvet cover (also in navy!). At least once a week when we get in, one of us goes “ahhhh, bed is the BEST!” You really can’t throw enough money at your bed set up, haha. Once our duvet cover needs updating I’ll be looking into Brooklinen. :)

  35. Ellie says...

Your duvet looks like a good “just right” thickness – where is it from?
