10 Funny Illustrations About Life

people-worth-impressing

For almost two years, we’ve featured Mari Andrew’s wonderful illustrations every Friday (here’s the very first one!), and they were always a huge hit. She is now traveling in Australia, working on her second book and focusing on personal projects, so our time with her is ending. We’re thrilled for her, although she will be dearly missed. Please stay tuned for some exciting new things we have in the works, and in the meantime, here’s a look back at some of our favorite posts from Mari…

  23. Bek says...

My girlfriend and I went to see Mari in Melbourne at an event for School of Life this week :) I first started following her because of Cup of Jo. She is so wonderful and such a kind soul, I loved, loved, LOVED hearing all about her book and her thoughts on ‘growing up’. I’m 26 and have just moved into my own flat after years of share houses and moving around five different cities and her chapter in her book about ‘wait a minute I’ve been here for 2 years and I don’t know if I like the way my apartment looks or feels’ really resonated. The whole book does hey. I wanted so badly to ask her about her female mentors and who they are…but I felt too shy! Thanks for featuring Mari on this site, I’ll miss seeing her here but cannot wait to see what is next for her! Anyone who hasn’t got hands on a copy of her book really should. It’s an absolute delight and hits you right in the heart Xxx

    • Bec says...

I was also at the School of Life in Melbourne on Wednesday! I was so happy that Mari is just as lovely, charming and funny in real life as in her work/online. She signed my book and I told her I found her through CoJ xx

Will there be a new cartoonist here?

  29. Hannah says...

Aw I love her illustrations so much I’ll miss them!

Funny thing, I actually emailed her the other day to show her I found one of her drawings up in a child psychologist’s office (in Australia too!), it was lovely, I instantly knew the artist because I saw it first on a Cup of Jo! And got her email response about her book promotion. I wonder what cities she’s going to in Aus as I’m actually living here now.
