My Beauty Uniform: Connie Wang

My Beauty Uniform: Connie Wang

Connie Wang is a senior features writer at Refinery29, and she’s the kind of woman who, as soon as you talk to her, makes you want to a) be her best friend and b) know where she found every single product she’s wearing. Here, she shares her surprising wedding look inspiration, the best smudge-proof lipstick and the scent that almost ruined her relationship…

Connie Wang wedding

First of all, tell us about your wedding ceremony look.
I was lucky to have my bud, Ashleigh Ciucci, do my hair and makeup. She is a pro when it comes to doing up almond-shaped eyes. My two notes were: 1) I wanted to look like me, but the Instagram filter version of me, and 2) I wanted insurance against a red nose, since my schnoz goes full-Rudolf when I cry. I was very happy to see that my nose was skin-colored in every photo despite the amount of times I lost it.

Did you have an inspiration for how you wanted to look?
This may be embarrassing, but for inspiration I sent Ashleigh a dozen photos of 2008-era Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. I was a senior in high school then, which I think is a time in a woman’s life where peaks and valleys of beauty are established. There was no one doing 2008 better than those two women, with their piece-y waves and smudgy brown liner.

Do you usually wear makeup? What products are part of your ‘daily face’?
I always wear eyeshadow and black liquid eyeliner. I’ve recently started using brick-red eyeshadows, and I love the ones in the Venus Palette from Lime Crime. For liquid eyeliners, I’m partial to Stila and Kat Von D. I touch my face a lot, so I need something that’s a rub-proof situation.

Do you wear anything else, like concealer or foundation?
I don’t. It’s not that I don’t have zits or redness — I do! — it’s that I hate the feeling of wearing anything on my face. It feels claustrophobic to me. I actually like having dark circles under my eyes. If I cover them up, I look two-dimensional.

What’s your daily skincare routine?
I have moderate eczema, and am allergic to a bewilderingly random mix of things, so most of my skincare revolves around three products: my humidifier, Fluocinonide steroid cream (from my doctor), and Cetaphil moisturizing cream. Without them, I would be distracted by itchiness 100% of the day instead of just 10%. During the winter, I’ll add Sisley Black Rose Cream Mask as an extra daily moisturizer.

Let’s talk lipstick. You’ve rocked some amazing reds and oranges on Instagram lately. What are a few favorites?
The NARS Powermatte Lip Pigment in Don’t Stop and Done It Again make me feel like a pro. They’re super pigmented, won’t smear, and don’t dry out my lips. If I’m going for a more subtle color, I’ll use the NARS Precision Lip Liner all over my lips. It creates this matte/puffy effect I find really appealing — like you’ve got a pair of smooth croissants for lips.

Are there any funny tips or tricks that you swear by?
My mother (who has great skin) always told me that washing your face every day with cleanser will ruin your skin. The more beauty editors I talk to, the more I suspect this is not entirely true. But one month, I tried properly washing my face — with oil cleansers, mild soaps, that sponge that looks like a black pebble — and my skin was a nightmare. So now I’m back to using Neutrogena face wipes or just hot water to wash it.

What must-haves do you pack on your frequent trips?
The one thing I never travel without is a Salux cloth. It feels like a loofah, and removes every bit of dry skin on your body, but it’s not so rough that you’ll damage your skin. They’re so cheap, and very long, so you can scrub your back like you see in cartoons. After using it, you feel really clean and smooth.

While traveling, have you discovered any standout products everyone should know about?
I am obsessed with Cure Natural Aqua Gel, which I first stumbled across six years ago in Tokyo. It’s a clear gel that somehow, after being rubbed onto dry skin, gathers every bit of gunk and debris on your face into these tiny white balls. It’s disgusting and intensely satisfying, and I only allow myself this joy every few weeks.

I loved your couples matching outfit experiment. Do you and Nathan also share products?
I think the only people who didn’t like the matching story were my husband and me! Reaching a consensus every day was torture. He is a product vulture in his own right, with an impressive collection of bottles and potions. The only thing of mine he doesn’t understand are the sheet masks. I don’t blame him: I imagine the sight of a person sitting on the couch, reading a book, while wearing what looks like the face of another human would be a little unsettling.

Do you have a beloved scent?
Most fragrances make me nauseous, but I swear there is some sort of voodoo in good old original Old Spice that makes me go insane (in the good way). Nathan doesn’t use it anymore because it started staining his clothes, which has been a very difficult relationship hurdle we’ve had to work through. Once in a while, I’ll smell it on a random stranger and go ‘Ohhhhh.’

Connie Wang Cup of Jo Beauty Uniform

What’s your haircare routine?
I hate doing my hair. I always feel like I should, because I’ll see candid photos of myself with tragic, stringy hair that make me want to commit to a weekly blowout. But the inertia of my laziness is too strong. The only thing I do is rub Shu Uemura oil on the ends.

Any tips for people with bangs?
I cut my own bangs. I bought a pair of Muji hair scissors, and have learned (after years of trial and error) to cut them in two layers, making sure the outer layer is slightly longer than the inner one, which helps them lie right. My hair texture allows for mistakes, and I am very thankful for that! My only advice is: don’t cut too short. You can’t recover from too short, but you can always recover from long and uneven.

Connie Wang Cup of Jo Beauty Uniform

What’s your biggest splurge?
I use the SK-II Facial Treatment Essence every morning as toner. It really is magical. The first time I used it, I saw a dramatic change in my skin the very next day. One of the joys of working in an office with a beauty department is that companies send amazing gifts. One year, we got a display of SK-II toners that was the height of a five-year-old child. I saw it and literally starting taking all of them — it was a Hunger Games situation and I was going to win.

Connie Wang Cup of Jo Beauty Uniform

When’s one time in your life when you felt especially beautiful?
Summer. The sun is out, the humidity is right, I’m always outside and doing stuff. That confluence of things is the perfect environment for me to feel beautiful.

Last but certainly not least: what’s your overall beauty philosophy?
Don’t look too closely.

Thank you so much, Connie! You are wonderful.

P.S. More women share their beauty uniforms, including a delivery nurse and a neuroscientist.

  1. Lila says...

I keep re reading this, as someone who is also allergic to what feels like every beauty product, I love reading about how she loves her humidifier, and cetaphil. Makes me feel less alone!

  2. I love every single one of those outfits. Pen x

  3. Erica says...

…can we be friends? For reals.

  4. alyssa says...

Can we get info on the red jacket thing in the last photo?? Amazing!

  5. Congee says...

She is SO ADORABLE! I love her! I want to be her!

  6. Shannon says...

What red lip is Connie wearing in that photo where she’s wearing a towel around her head? It’s gorgeous!

  7. Emmie says...

But the inertia of my laziness is too strong. — so good.

  8. Chelsey says...

I just have to say how VERY excited I was to see that this piece was from Caroline!! I love everyone who works for Cup of Jo, but Caroline holds a special place in my heart.

Also, I really enjoyed this beauty uniform! Connie is super lovely, and I have the exact same feelings about Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. :)

  9. anna says...

    Yes! Connie’s style uniform please!

  10. Jess says...

I’ve been following Connie since her early blogging days at Pretty Legit. Thanks for featuring her!

  11. aga says...

    Hi Caroline!!!!! Missed you!!! <3

You guys find the best people for these uniform posts. Loved!

  12. Clarisa says...

Did I miss the product she used on her wedding day to keep her nose color skin toned? I have the same thing happen not only when I cry, but pretty much when I experience any strong emotion and would like to keep more of a poker face…

  13. Grace says...

I know you’ve done it before, but thank you for featuring a woman of Asian descent on your blog! I’ve been thinking a lot about the dearth of Asian representation in media recently, especially with awards season going on, so it’s encouraging to see not only a woman who is Asian, but someone who is smart and open and cool and fun on one of my favorite blogs!

  14. justine says...

Hands down – my favorite yet. In large part to how FUNNY she is! And I just may need to bite the bullet and try SK-II. Can they do know wrong? Pure magic it sounds like …

  15. tara says...

This was amazing for so many reasons:
    1. Connie is awesome
    2. Caroline! \o/
    3. We need a style uniform with Connie, stat, because she’s on point (the shoes! dem shades!)

A+ Cup of Jo! Love the badass women you feature. ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ

    P.S. Where are connie’s sunglasses from? :D

  16. Len says...

    Wait..is Caroline back?

  17. Emma says...

Lovely interview! And love that wedding dress. Anyone know where it’s from?

    Thanks!

  18. Natalie S says...

YES CAROLINE!! And I have loved Connie since her Chictopia days and it’s so nice to see her featured here, she’s lovely :)

  19. Hannah says...

CAROLINE! We have missed you so much! All of her pieces were such standouts on the blog! xo

P.S. I think we’d all like to be updated about the comings and goings of staff – we get so attached each of you!

  20. SB says...

I was really intriguied by her love for the Salux but hate the idea of buying something of man-made fabrics to (1) use on my skin (2) put into a landfill! I love her final advice, though. Thank you for sharing all your tips, Connie!

    • Season says...

I agree! Try an Ayate washcloth. It’s an agave fiber washcloth. I love these things!

  21. Emily K says...

I have nothing to say but I LOVE CONNIE! So glad to see her profiled here.

  22. kate says...

Oh my god yes on the old school Old Spice. I dated a guy a million years ago who wore it and it still makes me a little weak in the knees.

    • Joanna Goddard says...

now i’m dying to smell it! :)

  23. MK says...

Hard agree re: washing your face too much. I use micellar cleansing water and night cream in the evening, then just slather on some high spf sunscreen in the morning before putting on my makeup. Too much washing and moisturizing throws my skin out of whack.

  24. NN says...

Oh, she’s too lovely! Seriously – love her style, love how her personality shines through her face and clothes, love it all!

    That wedding dress! Amazing.

  25. Mary W says...

This is one of my favorite beauty uniforms so far! I second the practice of cutting your own bangs.

  26. Melanie says...

I am so thrilled to see Caroline appear on the blog again! Will we be getting a love/life update!?

    • Joanna Goddard says...

      yes!

    • Laura says...

Caroline!!!!!!!! We have missed her so much.

  27. Laurel says...

I *have to know* who designed that wedding gown. *Please!*

    • Joanna Goddard says...

oh yes! connie’s friend Jennifer Chun made the dress.

  28. Essss says...

Yay for a post that acknowledges eczema! I’ve found that Cereve lotion works even better than Cetaphil! It has all the same unscented, mild properties, but is crafted specifically for eczema. It’s been a game changer in terms of my need to use the steroid creams

    • Same! My dermatologist actually recently told me to NOT use Cetaphil – just Cerave.

  29. Jane says...

Totally fell in love with this girl!! Will start to read her writing.

  30. Sarah says...

This post was a little ray of sunshine! She’s adorable!

  31. Hannah says...

So excited to see Caroline back! Also can we talk about her engagement ring? I love colored rings!

  32. Tania Barnes says...

Obsessed! She is my spirit animal.

  33. Katherine says...

Don’t look too closely = my new mantra. I have dermotillomania and pick at my face, so I have to be mindful of mirrors. Connie’s quote is gonna get tacked up right by my mirror to remind me to back up from my reflection.
PS I love her outfits and humor, and would def love to see a style post from her!
PPS yay Caroline yay Caroline yay Caroline!

    • Faith says...

I love her mantra, too! What a good reminder to step back from the mirror.

  34. lindsay says...

i hope caroline will stay on even when lexi is back! love her writing. her instagram is inspiring!

  35. Rachel says...

Love this post! She’s so cute!

One thing, and I hate to be saying this, but it’s my personal soapbox. I cringed when I read that she uses topical steroids every day. I’ve been going through topical steroid withdrawal for the last couple of years. Very few people know about it, but it’s caused by chronic use of (and dependence on) topical steroid creams/sprays- and it’s AWFUL. Be careful people! https://itsan.org/

    • sasha says...

      Yikes!! Thanks for heads up.

    • Melanie Gehman says...

Agree! I have a friend who is having an agonizing time with the withdrawal. Skip steroids for long term use if you can and try to find another alternative. XO

    • Claire says...

A little late to the topic but, may I ask what you use as an alternative? Thanks for the link!

  36. love her. and such fabulous photos

  37. Mwis says...

    I missed you Caroline!

    • Marsi says...

      This.

    • Molly says...

      Yes!!!

  38. Jen says...

What a fun post! She seems like a delight. I’m wondering which skincare products/brands have been recommended the most often in the beauty uniform posts. I’m 31 and ready to drop a little money on some skincare products, and I feel like there are a few brands I’ve seen mentioned multiple times here, but I can’t remember them all. I usually click on a link, get cold feet, and then close it and forget about it til the post. But these crow’s feet aren’t going anywhere and mama needs to get to work!

    • Jen says...

Meant to add…I’d LOVE a round-up of “greatest products of all time”, or something along those lines, ha. I know it’s different for everyone and there aren’t really any miracle workers as far as skincare goes, but I always like to pick products that have multiple women backing them up. You guys are awesome, by the way. From motherhood to skincare to what to watch/read/listen to, I feel like you guide me through a lot of life’s big questions!

    • Julia says...

My sister recently reminded me to try some products by The Ordinary that were recommended on here by Claire, the labor and delivery nurse, and I have to say they’re life-changing. I’ve never had better skin. Mine is very different from Claire’s so I kind of had to do some picking through the products and I read a lot of the reviews. Also if you buy through Deciem.com, they have an amazing customer service department that will suggest products for your skin type and help you find a regimen!

    • jess west says...

i second that! a top 10 would be great for us lazies.

    • Angela B says...

I always click on them, then add to my amazon “wish list” then when i’m ready, I pick one to try.

    • india says...

Not exactly what you’re looking for but Caroline Hirons (carolinehirons.com) is the skin care queen and has the best blog!!! I’ve learnt so much about skin care since reading her blog and she does great write ups on products. I’ve bought so many things after reading her recommendations and haven’t been disappointed yet. She even tells you where it’s worth spending big bucks in your routine and where to save based on age etc. Hope you find it handy!!

    • K says...

      I second this!

    • Stephanie Moreno says...

I second the skincare roundup!!! I’m 28 and ready for actual skincare products other than water and the body lotion I’ve been slathering on my face.

    • Brynn says...

You should watch the Gothamista’s videos on YouTube. I feel like I’ve gotten a lot of great recommendations from her re: skincare!

    • Faith says...

I’d love to see a skincare roundup as well!

  39. Cindy says...

I really enjoyed this post! Connie – 你太可爱了!也好漂亮啊!
Connie is beautiful and looks like a fun and wonderful person!

  40. Laura C. says...

Happy to see Caroline again! Not so long ago I was remembering that time when all of us readers were shipping her and that cutie farmer, haha.
Connie looks so great and I am going to get my bangs cut. But, I couldn’t go for the day without washing my face with water and a mild face soap. I do it every day and my skin look very well.
    Another great post, CoJ!

  41. Poof says...

    Love this interview.

  42. Jackie Sly says...

Love this piece – what a happy wonderful soul. Enjoyable to read about her life, her job, her day to day

  43. Anon. says...

I know Connie from long ago and can say she really is a beautiful person inside and out – truly. Was so wild to see her face in my favorite blog today. Thanks! PS: Her style is the best I’ve ever seen. Pls do the idea suggested above of a style post by her, esp. re: sources/stores to haunt.

  44. Molly Knell says...

I am so thrilled that Caroline is back! I got so, so excited and had to double check to make sure it was really her name on the most recent post. I have missed her writing so much!!
Loved this beauty uniform as always! xo

  45. Christa says...

PLEASE, can you ask Connie where her wedding dress is from?! IT. IS. DIVINE!!!

    • Sarah says...

Was just coming on here to ask that same question! Connie, you are stunning!

    • Hi Christa! I know this is probably unhelpful in case you’re shopping for one, but my friend Jennifer Chun made the dress — she is a genius, and the dress is a total reflection of that.

  46. Gemma says...

Love love LOVE everything about this!

  47. stella byneskino says...

    Awesome lady, great advice

  48. Amanda says...

I am so excited that you featured Connie this week and Alice (Gao) last week because they are both responsible for a very personally meaningful, albeit unexpectedly meaningful, post for me. Collectively, they are responsible for producing my most effective source of anxiety-alleviation.

Almost four years ago, Connie wrote a piece for Refinery29 on packing tips, and Alice accompanied her words with the. most. satisfying photoset I have ever seen. To this day, if I’m feeling overwhelmed, I still go back to this exact post to soothe my nerves and help me compartmentalize my emotions: http://www.refinery29.com/66313. The combination of neat folding, vivid colours, Alice’s flat-lay abilities, and Connie’s gorgeous wardrobe is really therapeutic. It’s so random, but it really works!

Thank you, Connie and Alice (and Cup of Jo) for being amazing!

    • Bethany says...

You are right. That packing story is so good, especially the road trip solutions with different caddies for each activity and one overnight backpack to take in the hotel.

  49. Lily says...

Connie, you are my new girl crush. I was laughing out loud at every answer and definitely getting that nutty cleanser.

  50. Nancy K Luedke says...

This post had me laughing out loud multiple times. Be my friend, Connie, you’re hilarious!

  51. What a lovely soul and beautiful on the outside too. But if you can snap a photo of yourself fresh outta bed and post that online YOU DO NOT HAVE DARK CIRCLES. Dear young women, appreciate your face now because in 10 years it’ll be the one you wish you had.

  52. Katie says...

Haha majorly relating to the Cetaphil moisturizer and prescription steroid cream ? And am also majorly obsessed with Old Spice. My husband stopped remembering to put it on and I felt very wounded.

  53. deborah says...

    Caroline! Yay!

  54. deborah says...

    Caroline is back yay!!!!

  55. Sharon says...

LOVE seeing Caroline on a post!! Her writing is pure magic.

  56. Carole says...

    Yay Caroline!!!! ???

  57. Chrissie says...

I agree- Connie does seem like someone I’d want to be my best friend! I also love that many of these products are affordable! (That cloth for 5.95??) Connie, you’re a beauty!!

  58. Magga says...

CAR-O-LINE, CAR-O-LINE, CAR-O-LINE! So happy she’s back with this kick ass gaggle of women.

  59. elinor says...

I love that her teeth aren’t “perfect.” I have imperfect teeth that I get way too many comments on, and it’s so nice to see someone featured here that doesn’t have perfectly straight, perfectly aligned teeth.

    • patricia Ferris says...

I love her teeth too! They were the feature that captivated me the most. What a beautiful woman. She looks silly too, which is my favorite character trait.

    • Lily says...

      Same

    • Paula says...

co-sign. As someone with crooked teeth and denying the pressure of too many dentists telling me how I can get braces even as an adult (lol, gtfo) I particularly like to watch foreign movies, not only for their exceptional content but it always is therapeutic to see normal people with normal teeth starring in them.

    • Kari says...

I’m Asian with crooked teeth too, and this post made me so happy! Connie is so beautiful inside and out. Both of my sisters got braces, except me. I’m 38 and still get asked (or encouraged) to get braces, but I feel like my imperfect teeth make me who I am.

  60. Cay says...

I love her! She’s always been one of my favorite writers on Refinery29, since back in the day.

Also, I think that there needs to be a discussion around the powers of Old Spice. I work in beauty and am fully a fragrance snob, but there is just something about Old Spice that gets me.

  61. Bianca says...

Yes to Salux cloths! Been using them forever.

  62. Katherine says...

I appreciate the realism of hair inertia! Maybe one day I will invest in SK-II…see how the budget holds up.

    • Taylor says...

Check these out: Secret Key First Treatment Essence Rose Edition or Missha Time Revolution First Treatment Essences. They contain virtually the same ingredients (the Secret Key one actually contains more of the star ingredient in the SK-II!!) and are super affordable!

    • Joanna Goddard says...

      thank you, taylor!

    • bisbee says...

I had gotten hooked on SKII but I switched to the Misha product, which is less than $25 on Amazon. Just started my second bottle!

  63. Missed you, Caroline!!!!! :)

  64. Milou says...

Love Connie and love that Caroline’s back!

  65. Gina Dwyer says...

Connie, you are wonderful and FUNNY! :)

  66. Nicole Brant says...

    Caroline!! ?

  67. Julie says...

This is one of those beauty uniforms where I’m like “Yeah, I’ll be buying all of this.” Especially can’t resist the sunglasses. hahahahaha

    Dammit, Cup of Jo! ;)

  68. Alice says...

Caroline is back, my heart is leaping with joy!!!!!

    • WAIT IS THIS REAL??? Is Caroline back?????????

  69. Mary says...

I love Connie! I remember Connie from her Chictopia days. There’s an entertaining albeit old YouTube video she did with her and Elana Fishman that I watched multiple times in college, because I was interested in interning at Teen Vogue.

  70. Susan says...

I always glean the best tips out of these features! Hello to purchasing some Stila eyeliner! But its not about encouraging consumption. For me its about a sisterhood of sharing what makes us feel happy and beautiful, and I enjoy that the most.

    • ashley says...

      She’s joking

    • Joanna Goddard says...

      oh yes it’s just a joke! :)

  71. Rachel says...

The major issue in the relationship was her husband not wearing a certain scent? I’m confused…how is that a “major issue”?

    • Court says...

She was probably being a bit tongue in cheek, but I totally get what she’s saying. Old Spice is a special cologne, my Dad used to wear it. If her husband was wearing it from when they were first together, it may be deeply associated with their love (sense of smell and emotion are linked in the brain- for adaptive reasons). So she might have nostalgia for the scent that he can’t wear anymore.

    • Kate says...

I’m sure it was a joke!

  72. Jen says...

My friends are completely jeolous of my soft as a baby skin. It’s because I’ve been using Salux for almost my entire life. I actually don’t feel clean if I don’t use that scrubby cloth.

  73. Emily says...

I also hate almost all scents because they give me headaches but go nutso for old spice! Gotta love that smell.

  74. Lily says...

    More Caroline!!

  75. Liz says...

CAROLINE!!!! Seeing her name back on CoJ made my day!!!!!!

  76. Katie says...

This post came at the perfect time! I religiously use a back brush in the shower, but am leaving for an extended period of travel soon – and that Salux cloth sounds like the perfect solution. Thanks CoJ &
Connie! PS – like many other readers on here, I also made a note to look into Cure Aqua Gel & also thrilled Caroline is back for a bit!

  77. Beth says...

    Is Caroline back!? Update please!

    • Joanna Goddard says...

she’s doing some freelance work for us and will be helping out during lexi’s maternity leave. so happy to be working with her again! xo

    • ashley says...

that was my first thought too! yay for caroline!

  78. Claire says...

She is lovely, and I enjoyed reading her comments. I feel the same way about foundation, and now I will reconsider my under eye circles, so thanks for that welcome shift in my perspective. That first photo of someone holding a plastic bag over her head was a little whoa….but she is apparently fine, so NBD.

    • I really like her philosophy on foundation, too. And I figured I knew what was going on in that bag photo, but it reminded me of Steel Magnolias when Daryl Hannah’s character asks Sally Field if her dress has to go over her head!

    • Alli says...

Ha, ha, ha. Now I WANT to see the bag photo!

  79. Welcome back, Caroline!!!! :)

  80. K says...

What is going on in that second pic?! A bag over her head instantly made me nervous, even though you can tell she’s smiling.

    • Kate says...

It’s to protect her hair before putting on her wedding dress, I’m guessing!

    • Joanna Goddard says...

yes!! haha she put a plastic bag over her makeup to protect her dress when she put it on, but i’m going to swap out the photo because it’s giving people hives :) thank you xoxo

  81. “Don’t look to closely. ” Yes! We are our own worst critic. No one is inspecting every inch of you, and if they are…. that is certainly not YOUR problem. Talk to yourself as if you were talking to a friend.

    • Faith says...

      Love this, Denise!

  82. Bobby says...

Please, please asks where she got those sun glasses. I need them immediately!

    • Cindy says...

They look like “the Love Tempo” from Crap Eyewear

    • Bobby says...

Thank you So much — am ordering now!

  83. Rachel says...

    Caroline is baaaaaaaaack!

  84. Blythe says...

This was amazing, but can I put a request in for a STYLE POST FROM CONNIE??!!?

    • Joanna Goddard says...

great idea! i’ll ask her :)

  85. Audrey says...

So great to read about Connie, whose work and style I have followed since the days of yore at Chictopia. Her clothing experiments—the matching one, as well as the same outfit for a month—are incredible!

Seconding the dark circles embrace: I regret it every single time I cover theem up.

    • Hannah says...

      I feel the same way!

  86. jenn says...

Gorgeous, Connie. This was a great read, and you are truly my skin twin–can’t wait to try the products you’ve mentioned. And the bang-cutting tip. I must say, that picture of you with a plastic bag over your head is sending my anxiety into maximum overdrive. I’m glad you didn’t get make-up on your dress, but . . . . !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Bobby says...

I had the EXACT same reaction to the plastic bag!

  88. Catherine says...

Yay!!! So happy to have Caroline back. I’ve missed her voice!

  89. Stephanie Raines says...

I love my Salux cloth! I don’t know how to live without it now. Great post!!

  90. D says...

This was great! I am definitely trying that cloth!!

Totally weird of me, but every time I read one of these I imagine what my answers would be and what it would be like to be interviewed. Did it when I was younger with magazines too. Could literally talk about skincare with a stranger all. day. long.

    • Laura C. says...

I like to do that too, D!

  91. Yay for Caroline! I’ve missed her!

    • And so sooooo glad to read about someone who also has eczema! It’s so hard finding the right products and regimen and I’m stoked to try some of hers.

  92. Hannah says...

Yay glad to hear from Caroline again!!! Haha! I love everyone has noticed this already and is excited, too xxx

  93. SP says...

a post from Caroline! Welcome back Caroline! :D

  94. Kate says...

Can you please follow up this post with a poll of how many readers immediately purchased the Cure Natural Aqua Gel? It was in my Amazon cart in 2.5 seconds. “Gathers every bit of gunk and debris on your face into these tiny white balls” – SOLD!

    • Joanna Goddard says...

hahahahahah i felt the same way!! laughing out loud right now.

    • brianna says...

I added it to my wish list, but it’ll probably come home to me soon, along with a Salux cloth.

    • Joanna (not Goddard) says...

I also ordered it right away and just used it for the first time! It was every bit as disgusting and satisfying as I’d hoped!

  95. Olivia says...

“Don’t look to closely” – my hero hahaha. This is why I open the car window, even in the winter, to look in the side mirror instead of the visor mirror.

  96. Sarah says...

connie’s hilarious answers made my day. off to try that skin gel cleanser situation!

  97. Caroline AND Connie?! I’m in heaven!

  98. Joney says...

    • Kelly says...

And is Megan no longer part of the team? I feel like we heard all the trials and tribulations of Caroline’s personal life/bf situation a few years ago — can we get an update? Hopefully things are going well?
