Beautiful Baby Linens

Parachute's natural baby bedding

We’ve had heart eyes for Parachute, the home essentials brand, since it was founded in 2014. And this summer, they introduced a beautiful new line for babies — natural crib sheets, swaddles and blankets in neutral colors and patterns. To try out the pieces with a real-life baby, we enlisted new mom and Cup of Jo reader Lauren, and her four-month-old daughter, Isabel. Here’s a peek…

After using the linens for a few weeks, Lauren said the piece she loves the most is the blush baby quilt. “It adds a little pop of color to the room, without being too girly, and we have been using it for some cozy tummy time outside in the grass.” The quilt is made of garment dyed linen on the front and long-staple Egyptian cotton on the back. It’s medium weight, so you can use it year-round once your little one starts sleeping with a blanket.

Parachute’s baby pieces are made with the same high-quality materials and attention to design as the rest of the collection — they’re like miniature versions of their grown-up bedding, which has developed a cult following over the past few years. (Parachute’s Instagram is so dreamy.)

Little Isabel has chosen the honeycomb-knit cashmere blanket as her favorite thing. “It’s so soft, and she loves snuggling into it,” says Lauren.

The new Parachute pieces integrated seamlessly into Lauren’s nursery design. (Above, the star swaddle blanket.) “I wanted Isabel’s room to be welcoming and peaceful, knowing we’d be spending hours and hours in there together,” she said. With their soft colors and natural textures, every piece will be a staple for years.

Which would you choose? (You can see the whole collection here.) Thank you so much, Lauren and Parachute!

Hi Lauren — can you share where the glider / rocker is from? Thanks! xo

    • Lauren says...

It’s from HD Buttercup. It’s the Gus Modern Sparrow Glider in Cambie Parchment.

  4. Sarah says...

I’m dying to know where I can get that sweet “moon” print? Our baby girl arriving in December needs that in her nursery!

    • Sarah says...

      Thank you!!

  5. M says...

Lauren– Thank you for responding to my question. I love the community here!

So sweet and well styled but a baby cashmere blankie so many as asking?! I could hardly bring myself to use the handmade quilt I bought for my son and, up until last night, it had been perfectly draped over the back of the crib. He wanted to sleep with it last night (for the first time in 2 + years since he was born) and I thought…what if he pees/poops/barfs on it?! Then I realized it could be cleaned and the reason I spent a hefty price on it was because it was so beautiful- not because I wanted it to sit on his crib untouched for the rest of his life. The only thing I wonder is how to clean a cashmere blanket. If it’s simple enough it would be a beautiful piece to have but I get that it is $$.

Aside from that, does anyone know of affordable sheet sets for a crib- with a top and bottom sheet for a 2-3 year old? They are hard to find and I don’t really want to make a top sheet but I will. We’re not ready for the big boy bed yet. All I can find are fitted crib sheets and smaller baby blankets/swaddles. I’d love to find top flat sheets for a crib and larger toddler blankets that aren’t for 30 degrees below. I’m shocked that there aren’t more options out there. Thanks!

    • Sara says...

Honestly, IKEA has a decent collection of crib bedding that includes pillows and comforters. I don’t remember if we found a top sheet but we at least found a whole set for our son’s crib that goes beyond just a fitted sheet!

  7. Lilian Fields says...

Thanks, Lauren, for taking the time to update about all the other lovely things in this photo. So glad to know about both Katelyn Morse and the Land of Nod dresser.

Love the wall hanging above the changing table! Any idea where she found it?

    • Lauren says...

Found it at the West Coast Craft Fair, it’s by Meghan Shimek

  13. Melissa says...

Would you recommend parachute or brooklinen sheets? Any pros/cons?

    • Rose says...

I have Parachute sheet and my roommate has Brooklinen. The Parachute sheets are a lot softer and have only looked better with each wash. Her’s (the roommate) came with a chemical smell and are still quite stiff. Hope that helps :)

    • Melissa says...

Thanks, that is helpful! We like our Brooklinen duvet but I always see this as an alternative option and we need new sheets. :)

  14. Nathalie says...

What a little sweetheart! That smile!

  15. Ellie says...

Beautiful linens, but a cashmere blanket for a baby? Yikes! I love this blog so much but always have a little sigh to myself because features like these inevitably focus on goods way out of my price range. Surely there are some beautiful baby and kids clothes that you’d spotlight here that someone on a tight budget could afford? It would be so great to see that, but I understand if that’s not the demographic you’re aiming at.

    • Lexi Mainland says...

Thank you so much for your comment,
Ellie. We always try to show a range of price points. Here’s a piece on great kids clothing under $25 from this summer: ‪http://cupjo.co/2tP7BFQ‬ xo Lexi

    • Ellen says...

Oh my gosh, all I could picture when I saw the cashmere blanket was it inevitably getting covered in slimy baby poop. Don’t do that to cashmere!!!

  16. Sweet lovely little face, Isabel! Lauren, I wish you a lot of fun!

  17. Who made the weaving above the dresser? It’s super dreamy!

    • Lauren says...

      It’s by Meghan Shimek

  24. Mer says...

Just a question, how can you wash the cashmere and quilt if they get (inevitably) dirty? :(

    • Sarah K says...

Yes, I look at lovely images like these and think, “mine must be the only babies who threw up AND pooped on every single white or light-colored item that came within an arm’s reach of them.

  25. Jo says...

Lovely! And I’d also like to know more about the pink moon print!

    • Lauren says...

      It’s by Katelyn Morse

  26. Shannon says...

    • Lauren says...

      They are Rag & Bone

  36. Lauren says...

I’m also a Lauren with a 4-month-old daughter and for a minute I was like WAIT IS THIS ME. But it’s not. Love this nursery and this line of products.
