What Do You Carry in Your Bag?

Cuyana leather mini tassel bag

What do you pack in your everyday bag? I’m always curious. This spring, I’ve been wearing a Cuyana bag that’s somehow the perfect size: it’s light and compact, but still has plenty of room for essentials. Here’s a peek inside…

Cuyana leather mini tassel bag

My essentials: a musky perfume, lip balm, a small toy to keep the boys occupied while waiting at the bank or grocery store, a notebook for random ideas, a bike light, and a compelling podcast loaded on my phone. Everything else goes in and out depending on the day’s itinerary (lately, chocolate has been making a cameo).

Cuyana has been one of my favorite makers of leather goods since it was founded in California in 2013. Their new mini tassel bag is made of gorgeous Italian leather, but is also super durable — you can wear it every day. I always admire Cuyana’s attention to pretty details, like the gold hardware and tasseled zipper-pull. (You can also customize the mini tassel bag with a monogram, if you like.)

My bag is the ecru color, and it also comes in blush pink and black. Which would you pick?

Bonus for all readers: Cuyana is offering free monogramming on any purchase with the code CUPOFJO2017, good through April 30th. You can browse all their beautiful bags here. Thank you so much, Cuyana!

  1. Joanne says...

Love how you put the tassel up on the side of the bag instead of hanging off the bottom corner. Is the bag still secure when you do that? Can things fall out?

  2. Lucy says...

Waiting for another promo to finally buy THE bag!! Having a partnership soon, Jo? :)

  3. Jen Smith says...

Hi lovely, I’ve been researching camera style bags for a few weeks-this post is perfect timing. I’d be so so grateful if you could tell me-is the leather lovely and soft? And I notice the strap is not fixed in the middle of the bag, but on one side. Does this mean the bag sits strangely when worn crossbody? Also, you look so genuinely happy recently-it’s lovely to see!
    Thanks sweetness xxx

  4. Joanna I’ve noticed you said you don’t carry a wallet around and just a card and $20. I’m curious though, do you take the subway? I ask because I’m always surprised when a New Yorker carries minimal essentials. I have a card case I always tote with me but I always carry: ID, metrocard, credit card, & my work card. The idea is alluring to me but frightening at the same time. When did you stop carrying it all?

  5. I love how compact that bag is, though it clearly fits your essentials! I always have a book in my bag to read on the subway, plus the usual. That rosebud salve is miraculous… I use it for everything!

  6. Fantastic idea the fruit!!

  7. Carmen says...

I like to travel light, so don’t use a bag unless we’re out on a day trip or hike. Am I alone? (I find handbags so awkward.)

Sometimes I take nothing at all (if I’m out walking/running for example, which often runs all morning.) If I’m shopping or meeting a friend for coffee/lunch I’ll have a credit card or cash. A key if required (house/car) and usually my phone, but not if I don’t have pockets. But that’s it. If we’re out for the day I often take a small backpack with water, a snack/s, tissues, hand sanitiser and a sweater. Very small sunscreen in Summer too.

  8. OMG – so light on! I have
    – bamboo cultery & straw & linen napkin
    – fold up shopping bag
    – charging cord and stone shaped battery
    – wallet
    – phones (one for work, one personal)
    – zippered pouch with: painkillers, KFC wipes, lip balm, lipstick etc
    – two pairs of sunnies (one pair is super scratched…)
    – keys on different rings: home, work, church, work car, personal car, garage remote
    – work ID pass
    – mints
    And sometimes a water bottle…

    • wow, so eco!

  9. You don’t carry a wallet?

    • Joanna Goddard says...

i do when traveling or driving, but otherwise i’ll just carry a credit card and $20!

  10. Izzy says...

I loved Cuyana, but, unfortunately, their bags are not the quality you’d expect for the price you pay. I purchased 2 saddle bags and both broke within 2 months (same piece of hardware came off on both bags causing the seam to split down the side). To their credit, they replaced the first bag after it broke and then gave me a full refund after the second split as I was not interested in getting another defective purse at that point, no matter how good looking it is…

    • Eleanor from Cuyana says...

      Hi Izzy,

Thanks for writing about this. We absolutely stand behind the quality of our all our bags and apologize that this happened. This is definitely unusual and I’m glad that our team was able to resolve this for you. We appreciate your support and would love to hear more feedback from you if you would like to send to support@cuyana.com

      All the best,

      Eleanor from Cuyana

  11. Elizabeth says...

I have the normal things like a wallet, phone, sunglasses, lip balm, feminine products, lotion, mints, comb & tissues (old laaady). I also carry flossy picks, band-aids, face blotting tissues, earphones and gift cards. I had a girls’ weekend recently with my two friends who are moms and I was the only one who had all the stuff they needed in my purse. They said I was ready to be a mom. Ha! Things I need to start carrying: tweezers, nail file & hair ties.

  12. Yazi says...

I carry too much stuff in my bag, including a medicine pouch for my various allergies. But typically: wallet, mobile phone, lipstick, and a notebook.

  13. Liza says...

Y’all are crazy. Phone, wallet, lip balm, keys, tampons.

  14. Thank you for providing the code. I just got one in black. It reminds me of an overpriced bag I’ve been lusting over but can’t pull the trigger on to get myself. Really glad you showed me an alternative, especially since I got my initials monogrammed into it. This will be my first Guyana purchase so I am eagerly awaiting it’s arrival. :)

What I usually keep in my bag: phone, slim mope charger, short charging cable, in ear headphones, keys in a key case, small card wallet, lip balm, eye drops, gum, hair bands, and sunglasses. As the weather warms up I’ll always keep a small bottle of SPF in the bag too as I’m pale and like to remain so.

  15. Emilie says...

I just bought the same bag a couple weeks ago! I’ve only used it once so far because I’m usually toting my son’s diaper bag :)

  16. Olivia says...

It looks like the zipper closes on the bottom corner of the bag. Do you ever have a problem with things falling out when you open the bag to retrieve something?

  17. Jen Smith says...

Watching ‘what’s in my bag’ videos on YouTube is my secret little guilty pleasure..you made me SO happy with this! I love all Cuyana items…I’m a bit nervous of import charges to the UK though. Happy travels with your wee bag Jen xxx

  18. Lo says...

Without fail I always carry (excluding phone, keys, wallet etc) – a notepad and pen, headphones for my phone, lip balm and my menstrual cup.

They stay in a little pouch that gets moved between purses. I love how compact this bag is, and the delicate colour!

    Lo

  19. I love seeing what other people have in their bag! It’s a great way for me to understand what other people are like… how messy are they, what kind of bag they wear, how big is it etc etc

    http://thedianaedition.com

  20. I still love the body shop’s white musk!!! But I get the lighter version so that I can spray as much as I want. I also have a massive bag because I always have water and food for my son and camera and thats why my shoulder hurts every night. I need a better bag!

  21. Linda says...

I love small crossbodies. Otherwise I carry too much stuff and it hurts my neck. This one is so cute! I love the ecru and blush colors and the little tassel. You are brave to carry fruit! I think if I did that, I would forget about it and it would rot!! I like your unique key chain!

  22. Erin says...

Perfume in your bag is surprising to me. We have a scent free policy at work because so many people these days are sensitive to fragrance. I gave gotten so used to it that I never think to wear perfume anymore.

  23. I’d love to have a tiny bag, but just can’t! Items in my bag are super minimal, but larger. I carry my diabetic supplies (insulin pens and a glucose monitor; these are the bigger items); my wallet; phone; and a tiny notebook and pen. I’ve a separate messenger bag for work and a diaper bag for baby, but for everyday purse, I’m currently using a clutch bag.

    • M says...

Me too! (T1 DM) I would love to be super minimalist (just have phone, lip balm and a couple of cards), but with all the supplies….I have a pump, but the glucose monitor, plus the GoGo squeeze (thats what I use for lows). Plus I need access it quick or even test in the bag (so no one sees). I should design a bag for T1s!

  24. Allie says...

I have a little bag from a Supergoop sample set that says “HELLO SUNSHINE” in huge letters, and that’s where I keep all the little stuff that gets lost in my bag otherwise – ibuprofen, lipstick, band-aids, eyedrops, safety pins, tiny bottle of sunscreen. It makes me smile when I take it out of my bag.

Also, I carry a small Swiss Army knife – if it gets confiscated at the airport it was only $15 and I can replace it. The scissors have come in amazingly useful for various kid-related emergencies, or if there’s an annoying tag on my shirt.

    • Caro says...

      Love both tips!

  25. Amy Madeline says...

I didn’t see anyone mention reusable bags! I carry 2-3 in my bag (currently a leather shoulder tote) at all times. My favorites are Chicobag and Flip and Tumble which stuff into their attached pouches, and Baggu for their great prints. My small Baggu travel pouch holds a small hairbrush (Phillips Light Touch 6 purse size, perfect for my thick, straight, fine textured hair), Burt’s Bees tinted lip balm, tic tacs, gum, sunscreen, EO lavender hand sanitizer, lens wipes. Also carrying a large zip around wallet, sunglasses in hinged case, cell phone, memo pad and pen. Soon I will also always have my black, roll up Wallaroo “Ellie” hat, which wears like iron and I use year round here in Santa Cruz. And frequently I have my beloved Nau down blazer stuffed in there after the day warms up. (Sure is fun to share some of my favorite things.)

  26. Carrie says...

I love a good, roomy crossbody. I love the hands free element!

Inside, I am prepared for just about anything without having a cluttered purse. Chapstick, floss sticks and my fav essential oils are probably my biggest must-haves.

  27. Hannah says...

    Hi Joanna,

Can you share where you got your key ring?

    • Audrey says...

      Same I wanted to know!

  28. Cute bag ^_^ I carry a slightly bigger bag because I never leave the house without a reusable shopping bag, filled S’well water bottle, and a cloth napkin with a spoon, chopsticks, and stainless steel straw wrapped up inside in case of eating out where only disposables are available. A moment of convenience with plastic disposables wreak havoc on our planet for an eternity so I try to avoid those situations by being prepared with my reusables :)

  29. Could you share which headphones you use? I need a good upgrade, but don’t want anything too big and bulky. Thank you! :)

  30. Elizabeth says...

Does this bag have two zippers, so that you can choose where the tassel goes when it’s fully zipped? I like the way the tassel looks on the side in the second picture rather than at the bottom as in the first.

  31. How timely! I just started Instagramming @stuffinmypurse! Because there is always weird, kid-related stuff in there.

In addition, there is always a wallet, band-aids and a checkbook.

  32. Sasha says...

I carry a small black cross body Sherpani bag, made of some kind of beautiful yet indestructible cleanable non leather material. 3+ years of daily wear and it looks like brand new. It was from REI. I highly recommend for anyone who doesn’t but leather. Or if you like a squashable, indestructible bag. I keep it stuffed in a compartment in my car, but you’d never know.

In it, bobby pins, a pony holder or 8, a small zipper pouch with cash, another with slots, with credit cards and id, etc. A nice big pocket for my phone, a clip for keys, burts bees lip balm, some homemade hand salve in a tiny tin, stamps to send my daughter in college a couple letters a week.

I wish I could keep chocolate in it. Inevitably I would leave it lying in the house and the hound dog would smell chocolate and destroy my bag. Not actually indestructible on second thought ;)

  33. I bought a Cuyana belt at their store in LA and I absolutely love it! Everything is so refined, comfortable and well made. Next time I buy a new bag, it’s going to be from this brand!

  34. Laura says...

Sometimes I feel my bag routine is a little ridiculous. I have a rotating cast of three “everyday” bags that I carry – a Madewell leather tote for work, a medium cross body for grocery shopping and walking, and a nicer “purse” for all my other needs. Then, I keep most of my bag essentials in smaller bags (an old clutch and makeup bag) that I move from one to the other. Those smaller bags contain my tissues, hand lotion and sanitizer, feminine products, cuticle cream, a small notebook, and headphones (because I always forget them when going to the gym after work). I also keep a small change purse just for quarters (I keep the other spare change at home), because you always need quarters for tolls, parking meters, and vending machines at work! I also have my wallet, phone, and big ol’ prescription sunglasses case. :) Then, because I’m crazy, I make sure each of my three bags havr plenty of lip balms tucked away in a side pocket because it’s the WORST when you’re stuck without one!

  35. Barbara says...

I have a Mark and Graham monogrammed bag that looks like a doctor bag. It’s red leather and has both handles like a typical doctor’s bag and a crossbody bag. I have a commute on the T in Boston that is 45 minutes each way on a good day so I carry a lot.
I have a kindle (must), portable charger, phone, usb cord, wallet, migraine pills, lip glosses, sunglasses/glasses case, small makeup kit, case with T pass, work badge, some packets of truvia, and some sugar-free werthers caramels.

  36. Jess says...

I have a mini emergency kit in a band aid tin- some bandaids, a small tube of antibiotic ointment, a needle for slivers, a roll on peppermint and lavender essential oil, all tucked in the tin. I have 5 kids, this is used a lot! There’s also a small makeup bag that contains lip balm, a few pads, a tiny swiss army knife with that very useful scissors, and a little tin of homemade hand salve. Then it’s just the regular purse stuff, wallet, pens, kindle/book. I also have a purse flashlight and a lighter, because a state patrol officer once told my kids who asked about what he carried on his belt to always have a way to make fire and a light source. We mostly use the lighter to sterilize the needle for slivers, but I was in a Target once that went black in a storm so that flashlight was handy!

  37. Loribeth says...

Lately it’s been my wallet, keys, phone, earbuds, Clinique Black Honey Almost Lipstick, a felt tip pen, and my leatherman pocket knife. I like to be able to switch everything really quickly between a tote that fits my iPad if I need it and tiny little crossbody.
The Cuyana bags are so cute, I definitely have their zip satchel pinned for the next time I need to upgrade my work tote!

    • Loribeth says...

Oh, I forgot to add Tide To Go pen!! I have one in every bag so I don’t have to transfer, because I always spill something on myself when I’m out.

  38. Laura C. says...

“lately, chocolate has been making a cameo” – – > ahaha you’re so sweet Joanna.
My bag will never be as cool as yours, nor inside neither outside!

  39. The one thing I’ve started carrying in my everyday bag is a paper pad and pen. I can take notes and jot down ideas.

  40. Greta says...

My bag staples are: a wallet, keys, iPhone, a small pack of Kleenex, a lipstick/lipgloss. And somehow I always manage to accumulate lots of junk – scrunched up receipts, chewing gum spit out and wrapped in some random piece of paper, crumbs (?!?), loose change, bobby pins, pens (which often create “artwork” on the inside lining of my bag), etc.

  41. Shawna says...

If you love this Cuyana bag but want a slightly better price (or more colors!) Jcrew carries a similar bag: http://cupjo.co/2p2KSH4

I have it in roasted chestnut and love it’s small size and lovely soft leather.

    • I have the dark wine (currently out of season, but i still wear it because i love it), and it’s a great bag!

  42. Okay, I’m a little embarrassed to admit to my incredible mess of a bag. I carry a large, leather bucket bag that I bought in China and I can wear it crossbody which is key considering I’m always holding someone’s hand. In my bag, currently, are a large wallet with every card I might need (credit, library, health insurance, etc.), a coloring page from my daughter’s music class, my swatch watch cosmetic bag that I bought when I was 13 and it’s remarkably still in good shape and it’s filled with about 7 lipsticks a concealer, and a mirror, a torn and worn pad of paper, a package of tissues (allergy season), 2 coupons, a ziploc full of wipes, a sunscreen stick, Dr. Hauschka’s Neem Oil cuticle pen (it’s changed my life! No more ragged cuticles), 2 almost empty tubes of hand lotion, a small pouch filled with tampons and pantyliners, hand sanitizer, some wadded up used tissues (I know, gross), my sunglasses holder sans sunglasses ( can’t find them anywhere!), and a portable charger for my phone. There’s also an unidentified purple and somewhat soft object. My bag is so large and deep and dark that I often don’t know what’s in it. On at least 3 separate occasions I thought my bag felt unusually heavy and I discovered large rocks placed in there by my 5 year old rock collector. I’m always fascinated by what people have in their bags. After reading the comments, I’m inspired to go minimal and carry a smaller bag. That would be a life changer!

    • Jess says...

Or buy one of those purse organizers. I almost got rid of my JCrew tote because I couldn’t handle the “pit of despair”. I actually bought a $5 art soft art organizer from the craft store Michael’s and it has saved my purse. And now everything has a place.

  43. Kristina says...

For years I carried around huge, oversized bags filled with everything I could possibly need (including a sewing kit, snack, full box of tampons, notepad) and bits of rubbish and receipts to boot. I could never find anything and my shoulder got sore when I had to carry it around all day.

For Christmas last year, my husband bought me a tiny bag I’d had my eye on. It has two sections – a purse for money and cards, which can be used on its own, and a ‘bag’ section which is only barely big enough for a tiny makeup bag with concealer, lip gloss and mascara, my phone , keys and sunglasses. That’s it! I have one tampon and two paracetamol in the makeup bag as my only ‘just in case’ items and I have NEVER yet needed anything else I used to carry around in my old bags!

  44. Sarah says...

S-town is just ??. I’m so addicted, I’m on my second round already!

    • Sarah says...

Oh and the bags cute of course ?.I just checked and apperently I usually carry around: my wallet, my cellphone, emergency cellphone charger, gum (fuzzy, need to clean my purse more often), three-four toy cars, a snack (because hungry toddlers..!), a fork (It’s been in there forever (yes, disgusting)), mascara, tweezers, old shopping lists, a chopstick.

  45. I’m a total minimalist. I empty my bag of receipts and other clutter I’ve gathered every few days at the most. My standard items are keys, phone, wallet, phone charger, earbuds, lipbalm. If there’s much more in there, I feel overwhelmed!

  46. In no particular order here are things that are always in my bag: Kobo Aura H2O (e-reader bonus is that its water proof!), phone, iPod touch (with no headphones as I tend to plug it into my car or just use it to play games), purse full of various cards along with an allergy pill and anti anxiety pill just in case, asthma puffer, small bag filled with lip balm (I LOVE Urban Rituelle balms best balms ever and the tins are sooo cute!) and my go to lipsticks (a nice nude, a bright pink, a redish pink, and a couple of tinted balms), sunglasses, reading glasses (I never use them but I like knowing I have them just in case), tissues, small pencil case which also contains a small pair of scissors, a box of coloured pencils and a permanent marker, diary, small notebook, really small notebook with pen included and whatever else happens to be in my bag at the time. I try to clean my bag every week or so and at the end of each shopping trip I put all the silver coins (anything less than $1) in a jar which helps me save money and doesn’t make my purse weigh so much.
My bag isn’t actually too big compared to most and I recently downsized as if to force myself not carry so much which has helped.

  47. I carry the minimal things (keys, phone, wallet, lip gloss, tampons, pen/paper, toy for kids) in a largish bag. That way, I have room for the unexpecteds on errands – like small purchases or things the kids want me to hold or library books, etc. etc. I always make sure I can carry the bag cross-body, too, so I can be hands-free.

  48. Something about seeing what is inside someone’s else bag is so fascinating <3

  49. I noticed no one has mentioned the main thing I have in my bag:
    …rubbish
    Just me?

    • Annette says...

Thank goodness it’s not just me! I have several receipts, an ancient pack of gum, four books, and about half a cup of sand in my bag!

    • G says...

      ?

  50. Taylor says...

I currently am using the Cuyana small carryall tote and love it! I have 3 kids (3, 1.5, 1mo). I keep a little makeup bag (I’m that person doing my mascara st red lights :o), diaper for the two youngest, phone, keys, mini wallet w/ cc & id, plus a rogue toy, pen, extra hair ties, and I always keep a pair of earrings in there. When I feel rushed or only had time for mascara, lip gloss and putting my hair in a bun, putting in earrings makes me feel put together/more polished :)

  51. this is such a cute post- i love the hot wheel! i am digging the dusty rose version!

    xo, brittany

  52. Simone says...

Love the hot wheel car… my two year old is obsessed with them right now so I’ve got one in my bag or pocket at all times haha.

  53. Hannah says...

I feel like the question is what do I not keep in my bag? Lol. I have a tiny baby right now, so most of it is dedicated to her. But within my mom bag, I keep a darling leather clutch for me with cards, phone, keys & whatever lippies I’m using.

  54. Diana says...

    Joanna,
Where did you get the raincoat?? Love it!

    • Nina says...

I believe it’s from Everlane! I have the same one in navy and I love it. :)

  55. Bindi says...

This is the perfect size purse. I hope to have it soon!

Also- Joanna, when are we all gonna talk about S-town???! I finally finished! :-).

  56. I love the pebbled leather of these bags – it makes them so much more durable! Lately I’ve been trying to minimize what I carry everyday, so I stick to my keys, sunglasses, phone and a card case as the absolutely minimum. Lip balm is always next on that list, and then usually a comb because when I’m out all day my hair is like a flat, knotted mess. I always keep a teeny gold Japanese cat charm (maneki-neko) in whatever bag I’m using too – I don’t know if it brings real luck, but it makes me feel lucky!

    http://www.shessobright.com

  57. Rebecca says...

Pretty pics! I carry the usual wallet and keys plus gum and mints. I’m borderline obsessed w having good breath.

  58. Brianna says...

Wallet, sunglasses, keys, phone. I’m a minimalist in all areas of my life. I need to invest in a smaller bag. Sometimes a book, sometimes my iPad.

  59. Alex says...

Where do you carry ID, credit cards, change, etc? Maybe it’s different if you don’t drive every day, but it’s hard to imagine doing without those.

  60. I’m a forever clutch kind of girl! Lip gloss, credit card, cash (ya right), key and gum! Even with two kids I tried to give the big bag a go, but always ended popping the clutch out anyway… Small and simple!

  61. Christie says...

Curious: why do you keep a bike light? Is it for actual riding or some other mysterious purpose? :)

I carry the Fossil ‘Emma work tote’ each day and I love it – it has a bunch of interior compartments and I love having a place for everything.
On weekends I use another small Fossil crossbody I bought a while back. If I didn’t already have a great weekend bag I would be snapping up this Cuyana one. Love the size and minimal look (although I’d be afraid of stains on the ecru, especially where it rubs on your jeans!).

  62. Anne says...

I once found a rogue powdered donut one of my children had put in my purse. That was my favorite. But usually I just have my wallet and a stash of gin gins.

    • Brianna says...

What are gin gins? If they are some sort of ginger candy, those might be a must have addition to my bag.

  63. Amy says...

Recently my girlfriend emptied her purse in front of me and I was ASTOUNDED. She had everything: snacks, make-up, sunglasses, reading material, Static-Guard, playing cards, phone cords (plural), tissues, Tylenol, you name it, she had it. It made me wonder how typical that is. I’m pretty limited with what I carry: lip gloss, tampons, eye drops (allergies), wallet, phone.

Does anyone still carry a photo of a significant other/loved one in their wallet? I keep a picture tucked away of my boyfriend.

    • Laurel says...

I have a laminated photo of my husband from our wedding day in my wallet! And he carries old love notes from me in his wallet.

    • Capucine says...

Umm, no photo of my love, but I do have the kitchen sink in my purse. STREAMLINED kitchen sink! I have a fidget toy for my kids – they are theoretically made for ADD kids to help them focus but by gosh they really, REALLY are the ideal purse toy for average kids! Phone-checkbook-keys-chapstick. Then a jerky stick and toddler waterbottle for me. An extra pad for period surprises. Floss, ah that one tooth! A crushable cotton sunhat and sunscreen. And, sadly, Advil for the migraines I’m almost not getting anymore, woot!

And I use all those things at least weekly, more often twice a week, because my life is a richly varied tapestry of sunlit field trips, treasured mama time lingering with my youngest while the eldest swims, and chats with the school desk lady while I write checks. I love the life the stuff in my purse speaks of! Not my purse itself so much, an Orla Kiely backpack I’m kind of over.

It occurs to me, this is also the purse of a migrainer – sunhat, water, snack always rightthere. Ergo, kitchen sink. (Can I just say, though, that once I set foot in an airport, my whole family swamps my purse with…I don’t even know, but it becomes this whole other animal traveling.)

    • I carry a photostrip of us that we took in a photobooth years ago.

  64. Laura says...

that looks like the perfect purse size! now can you share where you got your jacket? i’m finding it so hard to find a spring jacket that’s utilitarian but still feminine and chic :)

    • Meg says...

Agreed — please share deets on the jacket! Also, you look so adorable in the first pic! :)

    • Lexi Mainland says...

Hi Laura, it’s from Everlane. That exact one isn’t available anymore but this one is similar (and Joanna has it and loves it too): http://bit.ly/2owKbnY

  65. Tanya P. says...

Oh someday I’ll use a cute little purse again! For now my Fjallraven backpack is mostly full of baby stuff.

    1. Green Mountain prefolds and Thirsties diaper covers.
    2. Seventh Generation disposables for emergencies.
    3. Wipes
    4. Extra clothes for both boys.
    5. Gathre changing mat and sometimes Mini mat depending on where we’re going.
    6. An assortment of little vehicles for entertainment.
    7. Portland Bee Balm lip balm or Urban Oreganics Vanilla Rose lip butter (the only splurge I get)
    8. Sunglasses when I remember them (sometimes I wear my son’s neon green free ones, I rock it)

  66. I can’t wait for the day I feel like I’m ready to invest in a bag! Cuyana’s at the top of the list!

    • Lauren says...

I love this sentiment… saving up and looking forward to something like treating yourself to a nice investment bag, a rare thing in our credit card culture! Bravo.

  67. CN says...

Love it all! Who makes the key ring, bike light, ear buds? Love the color of the earbuds.

    • Kristin says...

The bike light is a Planet Bike Turbo – http://ecom1.planetbike.com/3070.html
I actually work there! I’ve been a big fan of this blog for years so was thrilled to see our light is keeping you safe Joanna!

    • Yes! The key ring! It’s lovely, and I think I need it.

I have a big tote style purse that I carry every day. Since it is big, I have smaller pouch bags inside- one that holds my card holder and change purse, one that holds lipgloss, KIND bars, Japanese face blotting papers, travel size hand lotion, EmergenC, tea bags and sunglasses, one that holds headphones and a charger. Also, I keep a small notebook, my phone, my Kindle, business cards and car keys.

I love their totes, but I don’t care for pebbled leather. I wish they made them in smooth leather.

I have that keychain as well and I love it! My keys never get lost in my purse anymore and it is really simple to slide keys on and off.
