Which Famous People Do You Want to Be Friends With?

Okay, here’s our pressing question for the day: Which celebrities or characters would you like to be friends with? (My answer is always and forever Jennifer Garner, plus Mike Myers from So I Married an Axe Murderer.) Above is Emily McDowell’s answer, and share yours below…

This is part of a series with illustrator Emily McDowell, who asks us a burning question every month, such as what are your pet peeves and what’s in the back of your fridge?

  1. Jimmy Fallon.. but then again I think i would get really weird around him.. I kind of love him.

  2. Gwyneth Paltrow, Amanda Peet and Ansel Elgort:)

  3. so many great answers! I would say Steve Carrell; he always seems so genuine during interviews and I love that he and his wife have been together for so long! Also, I’d love to be part of the whole Ben Affleck, Jen Garner and Matt Damon gang. That’s got to be the coolest group of friends in Hollywood :) Also, Jimmy Fallon, of course, and Ina Garten and Jeffrey! Wouldn’t you love to get invited over to one of Ina’s fabulous parties at her house in the Hampton’s? oh my!

  4. Oh, there’s so many! Emma stone, Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Jennifer Garner, Hugh Jackman, Steve Carrell. Basically, all of the funny and nice celebrities I can think of!

  25. I’ve always felt a friend connection to Anthony Bourdain, even though he could be my grandfather. Also, Carrie Bradshaw!

  26. I love this so much. First I must say that your pick of Jennifer Garner is so perfect because if I had to pick a “celebrity to play you in a movie” from the impression I get from this wonderful blog, it would totally be her! As for who I’d like to be friends with, right now I’d say its Emma Stone, Joseph Gordon Levit, John Krasinski and Emily Blunt, with Julianne Moore as a mentor. Also, I’d love to drink cocktails with Lady Mary, Lady Rose and Tom at Downton Abbey.

  47. I love this! We actually play a “game” in which you are going to host a dinner party and you want to have the right mix of guests, plan the right menu, have flowing conversation, etc. Who do you invite? They have to be real, alive people (and of course you include their spouses, it would be rude not to). Iron Man, because he’d know all the good sushi spots.

  96. Easy. Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake. You can throw in Amy Poehler too.

  97. Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein from Portlandia. Haha! I just think their humor is so soooo weird and unique that they must be hilarious to meet in person.
