Back From California

Thank you again for all your sweet notes last week! We just got back from our week in California. It was nice to escape the cold and spend time with Alex’s family. Four-year-old Toby fell in love with the ocean and would splash around until his lips turned blue.
Meanwhile, one-year-old Anton was not letting go. :)
Hope you had a great week, and I’m looking forward to catching up. xoxo

P.S. Motherhood Mondays post coming right up… :)

  1. emily, agreed :) xoxoxo thanks for these sweet comments.

  2. Love the photos of sweet little Anton sitting with you. I often look down while cuddling my little ones and think that I’d like to capture that view forever. Love the perspective.

Sending hugs to you and yours – sorry to hear it’s been so rough lately. :(

  3. I’m sorry you went through such a hard time but I’m happy for this peaceful beach photo. Love to you and yours.

  4. Impressive Toby could do that cause that water is not warm.

  5. The ocean is such a calming restorative place, isn’t it? Welcome back!

  6. good idea about the wetsuit, thank you!

  7. we live in LA and my 4 year old loves the ocean too. next time you’re here, you might want to consider putting him in a wetsuit when you spend the days at the beach. it protects his skin and he can play in the water as long as he wants without getting too cold. nothing makes me happier than seeing my kids play in the ocean and on the beach all day. so relaxing. that’s our bliss.

  8. YAY! I’ve missed you so!

  9. If you are ever in Bahrain (or in Dubai which is very near to Bahrain by air), I would love to host you! It’s such a different culture and it’s the most free country in the Persian Gulf.

  10. Well done for getting through a tough week. It certainly put my troubles in perspective hearing about your poor sister in law. Anton is the sweetest hugging your leg

  11. Jo says...

Welcome back, Joanna! Those pictures of you and Anton are so precious!

(My younger son also used to have this “um-that’s-cool-but-yup-not-me-no-thank-you” attitude+confused look on his face whenever he’s watching his older bro do anything for the first time. :o)

  12. Welcome back, hope the sunshine lingers for a while.

  13. It’s so calming at the beach. (I live on an island – Bahrain – and I rarely get to the beach and it’s so annoying!) Looks like the boys had a good trip!
