LOVE Taboo! Almost as much as Risk :D
We get quite competitive about taboo in our house. Certain people aren’t allowed to be on teams together because it’s far too easy. Mostly my best friend and I. She’s Swedish but her English language terminology is top notch.
My dad ALWAYS pretends to shave with the buzzer. Always. It never fails.
Joanna – I’m *totally* upgrading now… I would love to watch my husband attempt to describe “Brangelina” to me… hehe! xoxo.
oh my goodness this is one of my all time favorite games! my family has been playing it together (and kicking our extended family’s butts at it) for years! thanks for the smile today :)
admission: nothing makes my husband and i angrier at each other than being on the same team for Taboo. no joke.
LOVE that game
Ahh we were obsessed with that game in high school. It’s so much fun.

I just played this game for the first time ever with a group on friends a few weeks ago. My husband saw how much I loved it and it’s now under our Christmas tree!Happy Friday!
How about the one like Charade but instead of drawing on papers, you draw on the little whiteboard man instead! Totally eco-friendly and cute!

Funny story about it. One time we were moving and when we finally got all the boxes into the house we could her this horrible buzzing noise, coming from inside one of the 100 boxes. We later found it…it was the buzzer from Taboo. BAHAHA!

i’m in love with this game. i’ve had the same one since college (that’s 17 years!) i like to whip my husband’s behind (and whoever else’s is unlucky enough to be his partner.) I think some of my friends cringe when they see me walking towards them with this box in hand.
I’m the same way with catchphrase!!!I’m bringing it to all my holiday parties this year :)
I have never in my life played this game!
We used to play this all the time when I was growing up! Haven’t played it in years though. Its so hilarious. Maybe we’ll have to dig through the closets and bring it out for Christmas :)
Very fun game… but my version is *so* outdated. The answers will be “beeper”, “World Wide Web”, “Denzel Washington” or “Bruce Willis”. I need to upgrade to a more recent edition! xo.
OMG YES!!!! I always bust this one out when the fam comes over. Over Tgiving, we all played and had a blast. I should film it sometime…so funny!
This is my favorite game ever! I’m really competitive with it too!
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS! I think I might invite some friends over tonight for a taboo-night! xx
I LOVE that game as well. Good for the English/wordy geeky type. I tutor a boy in English once a week and we always play it. Great for improving vocabulary etc. Fun fun.

Ooh, I love board games!
Have you ever played True Colors? Each person is represented by a color. A question is asked and then each player votes for a person to win by placing a certain color card in a box. I recently played with my aunt, mom, grandma, sister, and boyfriend. One of the questions was “Who was the prettiest baby?” The color green – my mom – won. We began collecting the cards when my grandma said, “Please return my two green cards.” She had voted for my mom and forgot about my aunt, her other daughter!
Needless to say, it got a little awkward! :) I recommend playing with a bottle of wine.
haha, love that game!
LOVE that game!! so much fun :)
Love that game. Also, love Balderdash. Definitely play it if you haven’t. Best party game ever.
ME TOO! My sister always makes us play it and she always loses…but she loves it anyway!
Have you tried Celebrity Taboo? Not cure if they make a current version but we have the 1994 version and it’s very fun!
It is my favorite game!
Me too! I love it :)
I love this game, and also lately I’ve been addicted to inviting friends over to play Catch Phrase!
Oh my gosh, if you love Taboo, then you need to try The Big Taboo… it’s like Taboo only better! I’m a huge nerd and force my friends to come over for game nights once a month. (They secretly love me for it though.) Bendy Bob is a HUGE hit!
We are loving it too, playing it every week ;) Also obsessed with Cranium, it’s really fun. Every time we have a get together I’m anxiously awaiting for game time. Oh! and Rummikub, love Rummikub.
I KNOW. We have tried so many other games and nothing comes close. Although in a pinch Articulate will work.
Taboo is the best! Balderdash is up there too.http://wynnsday.tumblr.com/
me, too. and scattergories!
Ooh, have you ever played Celebrity? My friends are I are obsessed. Everyone writes down the name of 3-5 celebrities (depending on the size of the group – bigger groups, fewer names) and puts them in a hat. You divide into teams and go back and forth trying to your team to guess as many celebs as they can in 30 seconds. That’s the first round. In the second round the names go back in the hat and you start over, but you can only say two words to get people to guess (guys are really good at this one). In the third round, no words allowed, just charades. It’s hilarious! And awesome when people say weird things in the first round, because they come up in the next rounds! (wikipedia maybe explains it better than me: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celebrity_%28game%29)
Until then, I had lived a small life, trying to tiptoe through the world.
Including a fun game for preteens.
When I was 14, I asked my parents for a nose job...
