Maps of New York

The New Museum reopens on December 1st. In the meantime, check out Get Lost, the museum’s collection of maps of downtown New York drawn by artists around the world. Above is a spooky one by Marcel Dzama, in which he imagines fictional folklore, such as “the hanging tree of Washington Square Park.” Terence Koh’s guide to having sex in public and Chris Johanson’s hate letter to New York are worth a look, too. 1. So glad you posted about the New Museum’s reopening. I worked there for many years while in college and just after. It’s a great place, and I’m anxious to see it in it’s new home.

  2. Very cool link and great inspiration! I want to start designing maps of the places I’ve been and the things I’ve discovered… Will have to check out the museum next time I’m in NYC.
