Pretty in Pink

Dusty pink is everywhere this year, and we’re totally into it. It looks beautiful and fresh for spring, whether it’s a sweater, shoes or necklace. Here are a few picks…

Thoughts? What would you wear? I also looooove this.

P.S. Hoop earrings, and work twinning.

I’ve noticed that your team has been making efforts to include more plus size women in your content. Thank you!

  2. I love the linen top, as well as that blush nail polish. Just need some light wash jeans with gold stud earrings and a gold necklace, as well as some cute flats.

    I love it! Great colour!

  3. Oh i l love pink to transition from winter to spring! Brilliant! You always give the best fashion advice.

  4. fae ehsan says...

my wedding dress is going to be dusty pink!

  5. I want all of these!

  6. Favorite color!

  7. I love the nail polish. I just oredered a dark pink lipsense lipcolor. Plus their orchid and opal lipglosses. Maybe its a move toward creating my own spring?

  8. Caitin says...

The double-strap sandal link doesn’t work any more! At least not on my chrome browser…

  9. bisbee says...

Just got a pair of pink slip-on Vans!

  10. Allegra Liu says...

The linen shirt is beautiful. Love the parka too and it looks much more expensive than it is. Might need those striped pjs for spring/summer too. Too many temptations!

  11. Betsy says...

Just bought the Madewell clogs! The color is definitely out of my box. But I cannot wait to get them. They are so fresh looking, if that makes sense. Hope I like them in person!

    • Jill Palumbo says...

Please let us know how they work out. I asked earlier and the reader stated she returned them immediately because they were so uncomfortable. But they are so cute!!!

  12. Carolynn says...

Oh how things do come around, dusty pink used to be an old lady color and no one would be caught dead in it, but the fates have decided otherwise this year.

    • Joanna Goddard says...

it IS so funny. i thought the color was okay when it first started popping up but now i’m in LOVE with it.

  13. Aaaaaand now I shopped online at work again…thanks Cup of Jo ;)

PS- It was the Old Navy sandals. I have a couple of this same pair already, and I always come back for more. Currently showing self restraint on those Madewell PJs, but we’ll see how long that lasts!

  14. Cynthia says...

I like the parka and ruffled top. The secret to wearing this color is to find the shade that works for you. I bought a cardigan last fall in this color and I love it because it is a neutral color which works for most of my wardrobe.

  15. Jami-Lin says...

In <3 with that zara parka!!! And the dusty rose trend, in general. Such a flattering hue!

  16. I may order the blush trench/rain coat in the newsletter. I need an in between coat badly, and that is so lovely. I have a blush sweater that I worry washes me out, but I always get compliments when wearing it so maybe not!

  17. Allegra says...

Dusty pink is such a hard color to pull off, especially in anything that you are wearing close to your face if you’re pale and have any imperfections! Finding the right tone is super important and yet super difficult. But oh so lovely color nevertheless.

  18. Miri says...

I love dusty pink. It is very soft and feminine. I would choose the backpack or the clogs from your selection.

    Hugs,
    Miri

  19. Maywyn says...

Perfect shade of pink. There’s nothing like a pair of dusty pink leather sandals to say, Hello Spring.

  20. Lisa says...

The backpack looks cute, and functional! But I truly adore those earrings…if only they weren’t so expensive! :)

  21. Lauren says...

I’ve been lusting after these blush pink Frye loafer mules. Might pull the trigger soon!

  22. Ebony-Maria says...

Who wrote this? It’s always confusing when something is posted by ‘Cup of Jo’ and then there is a first person reference, like “I also loooove this”. Better to know the author. Shame that so many of the items you post to are imported and/or made with synthetic fibres. The opposite of chic! Kind of getting over this brand of consumer-feminism, but appreciate it makes you money.

  23. Bec says...

Love the Double-Strap sandals. Before I order online, has anyone wear Old Navy sandals before? Are they comfortable?

    • Felicia says...

I don’t find any of Old Navy’s shoes comfortable, but I haven’t tried these specifically.

    • Joanna Goddard says...

i’ve tried their flip flops before and they’ve been great, but i haven’t tried these sandals.

if you’re up for splurging a bit more, these joie sandals are VERY comfortable: http://amzn.to/2kUniun

      hope that helps!

    • I have a couple pairs of this exact sandal, and I love it! It is pretty flat, but there’s some cushioning. I can personally wear them all day.

  24. we’re obsessed with this color over here- my daughter and i are pretty loyal fans of pink!

  25. I love blush! I have a beautiful blush trench coat from Pinky Otto that I always get so many compliments on. I’m actually a little sad it’s becoming so mainstream this year.

  26. Jill Palumbo says...

I love the pink clogs! I’ve never order from Madewell, do their shoes run true to size? And has anyone ordered their clogs and know if they are comfy?

    • Amanda says...

Sorry to say but mine just went back today. They were so uncomfortable I couldn’t even walk 5 feet in them. They are beautifully made though and I do think they run true to size. Still on a quest for some comfy wood clogs!

    • Joanna Goddard says...

you might try these! my good friend SWEARS by them and she wears them running around NYC with her two little boys:) http://bit.ly/2msPJvV

    • Jill Palumbo says...

Thanks for the advice, Amanda! I need comfort so I think I’ll pass on those. And Joanna, those clogs are so cute! I’m just not sure about the heel though. They seem a little higher than my other clogs and I want them for casual wear. Definitely will consider them though. Thanks!

  27. Rebecca says...

    That jacket!

  28. Katherine says...

    Yikes – photoshopped thigh. :(

  29. Laure says...

    Love these :)
I ordered the Baggu backpack but checkered pattern just a few weeks ago and I’m beyond excited to wear it this spring!

  30. Melissa says...

sometimes i am shocked at the price of products on your site. thank you for selecting some very cute and affordable dusty pink items :)

    • Joanna Goddard says...

our pleasure!!! if you’re looking for any particular item, let us know. we love scouting :)

  31. Tania says...

Ahh, so pretty! It’s finally warming up here and this hits the spot.

  32. Amanda says...

GAH I love it. I got married in the blushiest pink dress because when I first tried on the color, it woke up my whole complexion and made me feel so pretty. I just bought a house and I’m painting the whole main living area in blush. You could say I’m obsessed.

    • Amanda, sounds like you were a beautiful bride both by how you looked AND felt!

  33. Anne says...

Dusty pink is so pretty and feminine, and it completely washes me out. Not gonna work for this girl unfortunately :(

    • Vicki says...

Me too! I can do it if it’s not too grey, not too “dusty,” if it’s a fresh blush, more like last year’s pink. But I bet I could pull off pink shoes, or a backpack!

    • Sarah K says...

Same here! I think it’s too close to my warm skin color and just makes me look blah.

    • Lauren E. says...

Same here. I bought this beautiful dusty pink blouse once and when I put it on my husband said, “It’s… flesh colored.” I realized I looked almost naked from the waist up.

    • Sarah Kang says...

me too! i just wear the kinds of things that aren’t against my face, like shorts and bags. then i can take part in the trend without looking washed out.

    • Me too! I gotta go with white/off white or something in the coral family. In-between shades of blush pink make me look sad/tired/dead.

Perhaps a better option for us would be home and office accessories like paper clips, drinking glasses, and the like.

PS on my phone the background for the comment box shows up as a lovely, soft blush color :)
