The app/age-guessing game: SO FUN, but not AT ALL accurate for me. I knew that going in though, but was curious to see how it’d categorize me. I’m still in my 20s (for a few more weeks!) but don’t have data on my phone, so my apps are very limited since I only use apps when I’m at work or at home (where the wifi is). I LLOL’d when it said I was a middle-aged married woman. Definitely not. But I guess I do use my phone like one. HA!

The abortion article is completely heartbreaking. How devastating to find out your unborn child is so sick. And how sad to be pressured with a misguided idea of “compassion,” that it is better to kill your wanted, loved child because she’s not perfect, rather than let her live as long as she is able. They could have been able to hold their son or daughter for a few days and loved their child while alive (if they’d decide not to pursue medical intervention). This is what my aunt did with her oldest son, even after the doctors pressured her to abort, but she and my uncle where able to love him throughout his short life.

Joanna, out of curiosity, what was your sleep situation when you had the boys? Did they always go into their crib, did you use a schedule, how long did you let them cry, etc? I practiced attachment parenting with my first- which included cosleeping (she’s three and a half and is light years from leaving my bed.) I’m thinking of doing it differently with my second, who is due in a month. Lots of questions for you, so if you can’t respond, maybe this would be a good topic for a future post, if you haven’t written about it already ;)

That quiz was pretty funny. Both my husband and I took it and we got the same results (even though our apps do vary slightly); Single male, under 32, making at least 52,000 a year. That’s us! ;P haha

Joanne, my little one is two months younger than your Anton and she ends up sleeping with us ecery other night. Well. Soon she won’t do it anymore and I’ll miss it.

Oh, O always put sunscreen on my ears on summer, but never put foundation or bb cream. It would be too much, I guess.

I really love the adventure playground idea but I couldn’t help wonder if the people who are a part of creating the playground are parents?

I used to be very free spirited and more inclined to allow children unguided free time- but being a parent has definitely changed my mind a bit on that philosophy and I thinking guiding children is also important.

It seems that the playground is a place where children are meant to explore and be free ( which is awesome!) but I guess I also think there is a place for guidance and direction- even in play. Maybe that’s just me but I felt like the mentality of the video was a bit too extreme about letting children be free and explore without many limits, boundaries or direction.
So something about it seemed off to me in that sense or not as attractive. Did anyone else feel that way? I thought it was cool but it just seemed a bit extreme to me.

My husband too has been out of a town all week and my toddler has wiggled himself into our bed each night. Good to hear I’m not the only one who caves. How can you resist a two year saying he wants to snuggle with mama in th big bed?

This year they had Cadbury mini “eggs” at Christmastime too! They were round balls in red, green and white. Just as yummy.

The bag is beautiful! And “if toddlers had Facebook” is so good! There’s one with hashtags..ha ha ha!

Putting foundation on your ears sounds good if it has sunscreen in it, but we should probably all just put sunscreen on our ears regardless.

As an artist who paints lots of skin tones, if there isn’t a little bit of red in a character’s ears, cheeks, or nose, people start to identify that something is “off” and “wrong” with the way the character looks.

We add red to make characters seem more alive =D Just like putting blush on, I think keeping the color that is supposed to be there (obviously excluding blemishes or general redness), will keep a face looking alive and vibrant instead of dull and caked with make-up (as apparently make-up artists would like us to believe).

And for the record, I’ve never noticed someone’s ears being more red than their face unless they were sunburned haha.

I teach art history, and it is always fun to see the shock on my student’s faces when I show them what ancient Greek and Roman statues actually looked like. So garish!

I’m TOTALLY with you on the Cadbury mini eggs! I’ve been munching on them like crazy as soon as the Easter candy section opened up in Walgreens. Interestingly, the dark chocolate ones aren’t nearly as good, and I usually love dark chocolate. So glad someone else shares my love!

Same here! My husband is out of town this weekend and my 4 year old and I have already talked about how she’s going to sleep with me because daddy’s gone. It’s like our fun little secret because on any other night if she wakes up in the middle of the night one of us will put her back in her bed.
