  1. These are soo cute!

  2. Pretty much any dress with pockets will do!
great round up. love the additions too. just wishing we weren’t going to be in NYC and DC for spring break this year, missing the feel of a new spring dress on a warm sunny day!

  3. Allison says...

The link to the deep v neckline white dress just goes to the Asos homepage…any help where I can find it? Its so beautiful.

    • Stella Blackmon says...

Hi Allison! Thanks so much for your note. That white dress sold out, but here is a similar one: http://bit.ly/1LRLHbW

      Hope that helps!

      Stella xx

  4. i love the lace midi dress and thought the style was familiar- sure enough, it’s from urban! i never realized this, but maybe i do have a style that i lean more towards!

  5. What a fun spring dress round-up! I’m especially loving that lace midi dress.

  6. I just bought the JCrew chambray dress a few weeks ago and love it! I mean, I’ve only worn it around my apartment so far (thanks, snow!) but it’s super comfortable and the draping is very flattering. I also bought two more dresses from Nice Things last week in anticipation of warmer weather. Cannot wait!!

  7. I love the sleeveless striped sheath dress. I’m pregnant at the moment and have similar dresses on rotation!

  8. I love the silk number from Everlane! For folks looking for plus size, check out Hackwith Design House. They have a whole section of plus! xx

  9. I’m so excited for spring and new dresses!!! =) These are so cute! I love the floral one from urban outfitters the best!!

  10. The lace midi dress is delightful, and I love the pale blue color with the floral print! I may have to visit UO and try it on in person :)

  11. Caz says...

Gah! Why are you doing this to me? I’m supposed to be saving money, but those dresses are SO CUTE!
I’d wear the racerback, the floral midi, the stripe mini, the cross-back dress and the chambray.
I recently bought a new dress for a wedding that’s coming up and I can’t wait to wear it :)

  12. Jackie says...

Love the Sandals in the main photo! So cute for summer:)

    • Genna says...

      Yes! where, where – WHERE?!

  13. Erin says...

Hi Joanna, how about some wrap dresses for next time or more with a defined waist? I’m petite and pear-shaped, so I’d look pretty squat and shapeless in a lot of these. Very pretty though!

  14. I love the sleeveless sheath and the drape shirt dress! I’m such a sucker for a denim dress, and plus it’s nursing friendly – which I need this summer!

  15. Mel says...

    Top dress info, please!

  16. Evalyn says...

We need a nursing friendly option!!

  17. Love the dresses, but can we talk about bras for a minute?! How do people deal with all those different strap styles and cutouts? Those are the things that make the dresses unique and I am always drawn to them, but I feel clueless on what kind of bra to wear so I never end up getting anything that I can’t wear a basic one with. I don’t have big boobs, but after nursing two kids the girls need a little support. Would love some help with this or even a post on this topic. Thanks so much!

    • Ros says...

I was about to post the same comment. I am in no way skinny (size 16, with post-baby-belly and post-nursing-breasts), and there is no way I could get a bra under most of these… or make them look ok without a bra.

And, seriously: I am not EVER buying an everyday dress that requires a strapless bra to be worn on a regular basis. Comfort, pls.

That said, I really like that ted-striped sleeveless sheath. Aesthetically , if I could get a bra to work under that black halter dress, I’d basically wear it every day.

    • I have a few ‘racer back’ bras that I wear with racer back dresses or any dress that doesn’t fit with normal bra straps. Some ‘normal’ bras have little hooks on the strap that turns them into a racer back bra.
The cut out dress does look more than a little challenging though?!

    • Kamal says...

Yes..what kind of bras please! a post on that would be very useful.

  18. Maia says...

The Asos one (Cross-back Midi) is out of stock. I would buy it.

    • Joanna Goddard says...

yes, it sold out quickly! i’ll look around to see if i can find another pretty cross-back option. xoxo

  19. Mary Jenkins says...

Love the striped one, so cute. Feels summery and tomboyish.

  20. Love the Ripley dress… but $396! Ouch!

    • Kimberley says...

      My thoughts exactly!!

    • Pam says...

I loved that one too, but I could never spend so much on a casual dress. *sigh*

    • MARIA says...

I thought exactly the same thing. It is ADORABLE but so not justifiable for a cotton day dress. *sigh*

  21. Great inspiration. LOVE the cross-back midi and the white ASOS dress at the end. Hopefully it will be warm enough to wear them soon

  22. tracey says...

when other people throw on jeans and a t shirt for a casual day i wear dresses. not because i think i look more put together (although i often do) but because it is so much easier to throw on one piece rather than two. and dresses are much more comfortable to move around in when chasing my kids at the park.

  23. Jacquie says...

IN LOVE with Kendra’s sandals in the top photo! If only they weren’t $320 :(

    • Joanna Goddard says...

we’ll try to find a similar pair for less! stay tuned… xoxo

    • Joanna Goddard says...

update: we added some similar shoes at the bottom of the post! xoxo

    • Ros says...

Try saltwater sandals? They’re not terribly dissimilar, they’re affordable, and they survive almost anything.

  24. Some of the Asos dresses are actually quite affordable. I just ordered the cross back midi along with the shoes the model was wearing! Thank you!

  25. Viktoria says...

I love all of these looks, but… I’d love to see outfit ideas and dresses for post-pregnancy bodies and nursing moms! :) I gave birth a month ago, but it’s tough to shop and dress when I’m still carrying extra weight from my pregnancy days.

  26. Kristen says...

    One of each please!

  27. Lauren says...

These are lovely, but it would be really great to see a wider range of body types represented in your fashion picks. As a size 18 woman, I’d love to be able to shop some of these links as well!

    • Angela says...

Ditto- I’m a size 14 and have DD boobs. These dresses are beautiful, but not super flattering (or are just downright impossible) for the curvier set.

    • Joanna Goddard says...

Thank you so much for your feedback! What kinds of shapes/tops do you like best? (For example, v-necks, ballet necks, etc.?) We will scout for those for sure. xoxo

    • Lauren says...

Thank you! For me, scoop necks or anything that shows off the collarbone and a little decolletage is nice and flattering. Also love something that has a tie or belt at the waist, to bring out the curves! :)

    • Joanna Goddard says...

      Sounds great, thank you!!

    • Katie says...

Ditto for me too. I love swing dresses but even the ones mentioned on this site usually only go up to size L, maaaaybe xL.

  28. Loving the ASOS cross back dress! Speaking of dresses, Anthropologie has SO many beautiful dresses online right now! I was surprised as I’ve found their style has gotten a bit drab over the past few years (clothing I wouldn’t imagine young people wearing, I mean.) But I pinned up a storm the other night admiring them all! Definitely check them out. :)

  29. I love that the trends this spring are a little more covered up than previous years but still adorable and completely stylish!
