Design Find: Great Pitcher

You know those everyday items you’d love to have but are impossible to find? I have been casually looking for a pitcher for literally five years, and they’re either too small (you want it to hold at least five glasses worth of water) or too…not pretty. But when I was at a friend’s house recently, she brought out this wonderful ceramic pitcher—with its round shape and tulip spout. A bonus? It was less than $25! Now we use it constantly for family dinners and entertaining friends, and it’s one of those random things that brings a little spark of joy every time you use it.
P.S. More design finds, if you’re in the mood.

  1. Hello Joana,

I am reading your blog since years ago, I live in Mallorca Island and surprisly I have the same pitcher since 10 years ago!!!!!
Looks really nice and in Spain is very common to have it in our table.

  3. Love it! Isn’t it great how much difference even the simplest little thing can make?

  4. @alina, i know! it’s so weird, these things are so dumb but it just makes me so happy to see it on our table. it’s like a little piece of art for me. :)

  5. Love the glug glug jugs :) Such an elegant way to serve a beverage!

  6. Your pitcher is lovely and simply elegant! Last Christmas my brother surprised me with a Gurgle Pot (gurglepot.com) and it brings delight, esp. to my two boys, and conversation every time we use it. I agree that it is the little things that sometimes bring great joy.

  7. I’ve had this one for years but I just assumed it was a vase. I’ll have to try as a jug one day!

  8. In Argentina, they use pinguinos for serving wine. We have a couple of various sizes that we use for water on a bedside table, flowers, utensils, etc.

I think they are adorable! It looks like they are available at:

  9. For only a few more dollars (well, $5.00 more) you can get a set of two – this one and a smaller one!

  10. Great pitcher.
I have a white fiesta ware pitcher I found at a yard sale a few years ago that’s similar. It’s so satisfying when you find *just the very thing.*

I’ve been waiting too find the most perfect mug for tea for ages. Not too fussy. Not funny (coffee has a sense of humor; tea is too zen and sophisticated for sarcasm). Not too boring. One of the fun parts about being an adult is giving yourself the time until you find The One whatever it is. It’s always better when you find each other instead of going out hunting for it.

  11. Spark Joy! Probably looks great with flowers in it too.
